Looks tremendous! Can't wait to check out the south island when you release this! I'm sure your work will do justice to the magnificence of New Zealand's natural beauty. (Even as an Australian, I'll admit the Kiwis have it good)

That textures are very similar to ORBX global textures in FSX. Very nice. Please change terrain near Queenstown, there is strange step in water body that should be urban landclass.

Slartibartfast will have a field day with the Southern Fjords.

I had done some mild landclass material adjustment to Australia's materials files for my 2016 install

Assuming the scenery is properly GPL licensed, there is the possibility to submit ocean-enclosed landmasses (for which New Zealand qualifies) to terrasync so that it is automatically distributed, replacing the current default. In that case, the source (shapefiles I guess?) - needs to be published somewhere (usually a public repository) and a few quality checks whether the scenery is seamless are run.

If you're interested, inquiring at the mailing list would be a good idea.

The FG project does not encourage or support distribution of scenery packages as addons, so apart from addition to the Terrasync server there is no space provided - generally developers feel that all scenery efforts should go towards a good unified world scenery.

I believe only the rendered tiles are Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0. The OpenStreetMap data seem to be Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL).[1] Though before September 2012 the data actually was Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0.[2]

Unfortunately CC-BY 4.0 does not qualify to be used with GPL 2.0, although seemingly it does for GPL 3.0 (if and only if terrasync is licensed under "GPL V2 or later").

However, it may be worth writing an email to those people and asking if they would allow you to release your derived work as GPL 2.0 - I'm sure it would be possible to add them to a THANKS file of some sort in order to provide attribution (not technically required by GPL but always nice - and is the main requirement of the CC-BY license).

I can also confirm that OSM data is able to be used in TerraSync.

nondeterra :
If You have uncertainty with source data licencing, do not use terrasync. You can create account on GIT, upload your work to this repository and add licence info about non GPL2 compatibility into readme or some similar file. Then make some advertisiment on this forum and all is OK. There are many very good scenery addons on the GIT or similar repositories...
