Reverse Thrust

Postby DylanTL » Fri May 11, 2018 2:12 am

The IDG A32X is by far the best aircraft addon in FlightGear atm. I had a question that hopefully a developer could answer: Why can I only either have no reverse thrust or maximum reverse thrust, and not idle reverse?

Thanks,

Dylan

Please click the ? Icon on the ACCONFIG window and read the keys. The "default" way to do reverse thrust in FG is to just flip the thrust direction around with one key -- unrealistic. So I had to make it all custom, and to add throttle support, the FADEC would become much more complicated -- so I just didn't bother with it.

Thanks for compliment. We appreciate it.

Kind Regards,
Josh

FEATURE REQUEST (here since Josh doesn't want the "correct" way on gh anymore) :
- AP diskonnect key: A key like the red AP-DISC and Priority takeover button on the sidestick.
- Copilot view as default view: An option to set the Copilot pos as default view.
- GPU connect, if airport has GPU available: If the airport, the user is at, has GPUs, connect them automatically when parking break is set.

If I were you, and I wanted my requests listened to, I would stop the bad attitude. Just because you don't agree with how we do things doesn't make it wrong. Issues != Requests*

I already told you:
- What key do you want? I don't have any idea what key to use, they are practically all used by FGFS
- I will look into this, but the only way I can think to do it is to switch the Y values (which are X in the config, for whatever reason) with the option ticked
- Decided not to do this because the plane loads up cold and dark. We may add an option to automatically connect GPU if the engines aren't running, aircraft is stopped, and parking brake or chocks set. I think it is a waste of time to build a database for each airport for such an insignificant task.

Kind Regards,
Josh

How about `D` as disconnect key? On a quick check, it seems to be unused.

`D` is part of the multi-key dialog. `Da`should get you into the autopilot dialog
A propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool.
When it stops, you can watch him start sweating.

By 'D', you mean Shift D? 'd' is used by walker.

FSX/P3D uses 'z', but we use that for something.

Hello,
Sorry for my english ... but im french, and reaaly not gifted with english ...
A big thank you for the work you do on this plane, it's a real pleasure to fly with him!
if you cross me in the air, my nickname is DE IS

however, 2 questions:
-Is there a way to turn on the lights and lights inside the plane? which obliges me to use it only in broad daylight!
:(
-simple remark, I find that the position lights on the wings of the plane are really unrealistic ... is there a way to make them as in reality?

thank you again
Denis

Hi,
Why are the position lights unrealistic? Could you explain more?

You could try enabling Atmospheric Light Scattering if you don't have it on in View > Rendering menu :)

As for the lights inside, sorry - they are not developed yet, except for panel backlights on the FCU, overhead, and pedestal. There is a knob on the overhead, under the FCU (autopilot panel), and another one on the pedestal to turn those lights on.

Thanks for your answer.
I took a picture of two planes for you to understand better...
Image
and for example, the Citation X by Patten

On the Citation X, the lights flash regularly and are not fixed (those of the tips of the wings and the tail ...
Thanks a lot
