When i hit ctrl-j to deploy the flares it just moves the rudder to the right, but love it so far

*edit* the flares do seem to deploy (i think its flares... maybe its engine smoke....) but it does still move the rudder to the right

oh oops. Actually, the flares do not deploy when you press cntrl-j(I forgot to delete that entry). How you deploy flares, is go to the overhead panel, and click on the big red button that says "Jett".

One thing I noticed...

This could be problematic for users who have both the AC130 and original C130. Both use --aircraft=c130 to launch.

Otherwise, it looks good. Don't have time to test it out tonight, though.

Oh, I didn't think about what would happen if you run it from command lines. I'll rename the files in the next release.

Currently the C130 can be called with three different names:

c130 : the basic version

kc130 : The tanker version

c130k : with boom refueling

So having a fourth version should not be a problem

ac130 : Armed version

Here you go, I broke it down to just 13 layers, let me know if you have any problems with it.

I'll get another release out today. I guess the command line must be using the c130-set.xml's name for the calling. I'll have to rename the files.

Ok, here is a quick update. I'll fix the thumbnail picture later.

Well... Very good work ! Cheer.

But I'll allow myself a few remarks, if you want (note, you have no choice lol)

1 - You mix some of the images in "RGB" and other format "PNG". Try all to PNG. It's simpler.

2 - Any folder contained in the "Models" could be placed in a specific subfolder ("Armament" for example)

3 - Images MUST be sizes in power of 2 (1024x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048, 1024x2048 etc...)

4 - Use a new folder "AC130" is not a good idea. The ideal is to continue to add version in the C130

5 - I always use 3D objects without colors but with textured. The color is often problematic.

6 - Using AC3D generates 3D files often are not optimized. It would be interesting to do a little housekeeping items. Poins and facets unnecessary to delete .

7 - by definition the image "thumbnail.jpg" is a small preview image used for aircraft in the launcher or on the net. Your image was "1449x885". It's much, much too large ....... In general, 171x128 is used.

8 - Here's an example (very quick and not completed): : http://helijah.free.fr/flightgear/tar.gz/c130-ac130.tar.gz

Of course this does not diminish the great work you have already done. But with over 150 aircraft (123 in GIT), I think my little experience can sometimes be used. :)

Best regards. Emmanuel

The next release will be much more organized.

4 - Use a new folder "AC130" is not a good idea. The ideal is to continue to add version in the C130

Due to the fact that I had to make direct changes to the c130.ac, I couldn't keep it in the same package. I also do not release my add-ons under the same license as the Flightgear core package is released under(to prevent the guys at flightprosim from stealing my work.) I also made a new folder so I could keep the file size smaller and keep it a bit more organized.

5 - I always use 3D objects without colors but with textured. The color is often problematic.

I'll try to keep that in mind. Sometimes I forget to color things white in Sketchup before exporting.

6 - Using AC3D generates 3D files often are not optimized. It would be interesting to do a little housekeeping items. Poins and facets unnecessary to delete .

I don't use AC3D. I use Google Sketchup. I only use AC3D to check that my model exported correctly, and to name the different parts of the models.

7 - by definition the image "thumbnail.jpg" is a small preview image used for aircraft in the launcher or on the net. Your image was "1449x885". It's much, much too large ....... In general, 171x128 is used.

I wasn't sure what the correct dimensions were. I'll fix that in the next release.

Whoops... if you used parts of Helijah's original work, then you have to release it under the same licence like helijah did: GNU GPL. Nothing else or your are breaking the licence.

I'll have to work something out. I'd prefer not to have the jackasses at flightprosim making money off of my contributions. I guess I just won't put it in the core package...
