I was on the flight simultator sites and I discovered a flightgear forum. Is this endorsed by this sim? You might want to check it out. http://flyawaysimulation.com/forum33.html

The linked to (and presumably approved) forum list can be found here: http://flightgear.org/mail.html

however it is an open source GPL project and so as such there's absolutely nothing stopping anyone from setting up their own forum to discuss the sim. Looks like its certainly doing no harm.

This is an open-source, GPL'd flight sim, so, even though this forum was launched by the creators of the FlightGear project, there really is no "official" forum so to speak (although I guess this can count  )

These are the official FlightGear project forums. They are provided and maintained by the project. They are linked from the main site as the official forums.

I took a look at that site.

It has two postings. One is a "help me" question. The other is a poorly informed and badly reasoned review. Among other things, it said that frame rates were bad in Baltimore. That's a function of the computer and OS in question. My brand new graphics card (NVidia GeForce 9800) works very, very nicely at KBWI, with over 60 FPS with the eye candy turned all the way up, at 1600x1200. it was OK (no better) with quality at medium (3) at 1024x768 with the old card, as long as the weather was OK.

It said not to download military aircraft. Some of them work fine.

Given the lack of useful information at that site, I really can't recommend wasting the brain cells.

And, yeah, this is *the* official FGFS forum for those who weren't sure or haven't been around the FlightGear scene very long.
