Hello FlightGear airliner enthusiasts...

Come one, come all to TransGear Airways' 11th monthly event on Saturday June 12th! If you are new to TransGear events, it's quite simple -- select a route from the table above, choose an airliner in FlightGear from the Approved Equipment list on my site (link below), and simply let me know by responding here in the forum which one you'd like to do (and it's permissible to do just one or two legs of a route instead of all three, if you aren't able to do the whole thing). Aside from the ability to take off and land, the only other mandatory requirement is the use of FGCom -- even if you don't know what to say, just get it installed and working and we'll help you with the rest.

I do ask if you are new to FGCom that you make sure you have it set up and working BEFORE the day of the event. It's gotten much easier to install and configure than it used to be, but it does still give the occasional hardware configuration a spot of difficulty, and the morning of the event is probably too late to seek advice on how to fix it. Please take a few moments to get those issues worked out between now and then.

Those who have done these events before will tell you -- it might all seem complicated and intimidating, but perfection is something we work *towards*, not where we start! If you can take off and land an airliner, and get FGCom working, the rest you can learn as you go. There are lots and lots of how-tos on the TGA website (link in my signature block), but we don't expect that newcomers pick it all up the first time.

Anyway -- new or not, the flights are now available on a first-come, first served basis. Let me know which route and equipment you'd like to use by responding right here in the thread, via PM, or by e-mailing me. I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing all of you in the skies!

I'll try TGA1130 again in the 777.. Maybe this time I won't have the time taken from me and my net connection will be usable..

Fingers crossed, yourgod! I have to admit it was a little disconcerting not to be able to pull up the TGA site during last month's event -- but, these things happen, and they're normally out of your control, so no worries! Hope to see you!

At least you weren't trying to fly a plane over that connection like I was!

AT&T have really been grinding on me lately. Their reliability hasn't been what I would expect from a business class connection.

Please *tentatively* schedule me for TGA1170 legs two and 3 in a 777-200ER. There is a small chance I can't make it.

1180 3 (not 1 or 2, I'll kinda be asleep) in the 787, but I may change to the MD-81 or CRJ-200 if I don't have a working 787 at that time. That is, if I'm allowed to use a 787 that's quite different from what the others may be using, in which case I'll use the MD-81 or CRJ-200.

California is -7 from UTC, right?

Done... let us know if your plans change.

Is the model name still the same as the "stock" 787? If so, other participants will see you as that -- the 787 they have installed. Otherwise, if the model name is different, they won't see you at all unless they, too, install it. So I would prefer the former, in which case no one will know the difference except you.

Dear Rob,

Thank you for your next event!

Please put me on the schedule for TGA1240 in the 772er which includes two airports I have never seen at this point.

I might have liked to have chosen a route that includes a route-path through the Pittsburg area and might have liked to use the 733 in that route, but unfortunate for me, about 20-30 minutes out of KPIT and on the route I always seem to throw the QNAN error. This makes routes from KJFK, KBWI, normally routes I would fly with the VA I joined, nearly impossible to complete uninterrupted. I don't know that this is true for other planes or routes but I do know that in the 772er, leaving KLAX and over Lake Havasue (spelling?) again, QNAN.

So, I will this week go fly the three legs and test the grounds, if you will. Which may cause me to change my schedule, or plane, or both, with you, if that be okay. Do that tomorrow and report soonest, but not hearing from me means I will definately do the 1240 routes as you have prescribed above.

Much thanks for you and your dilligence! Thanks for giving Multi-Player a purpose for loading.

Here's a prayer that my simulator-teachers will allow me an error free/hassle free flight.

Excellent -- will do. Glad to have you attending.

Not a problem at all -- just let me know if your intentions change.

No, you'll use "TGA1240" actually. :)

clrCoda wrote:Thanks for giving Multi-Player a purpose for loading.

You're quite welcome. I hope the event lives up to your expectations. Thanks for the kind birthday wishes, too. :)

So who's next? Slots are starting to disappear, so come and claim your favorite!

D'oh! of course. TG1240 will report success here shortly. Unfortunatly I just broke my headphone while trying to fix them. I have speakers but now no mic. Might could have new set by T-O time, walmart open 24hours a day. :-)

thanks

I will take

Code: Select all
TGA1230: KORD-KIND and KIND-KATL

but not

Code: Select all
KATL-KOKC

BUT, don't be surprised if I won't be able to make it. I have a busy schedule these days.

No problem -- I'll put you down on the schedule and hope for the best.

What aircraft type?
