Hi bisutti,
to help you and FokkerCharlie (who is pretty busy to solve your problem) I downloaded the Fokker-file again, built a new "Aircraft" folder (renamed the old one) and looked at the dependencies:

You need to have two other folders together with your fokker50 folder - "Generic" and "c172p", the Fokker 50 requieres this on loading.

You can update these two folders by downloading from
(at the bottom, "download tarball":

http://cvs.flightgear.org/cgi-bin/viewv ... t/Generic/
http://cvs.flightgear.org/cgi-bin/viewv ... aft/c172p/

If - after testing - this does not solve your problem I am pretty sure it is your "Unzip" program. Try using another decompression tool, if you are using Windows you might also have the choice of serveral different free ones - I am on Linux now but some years ago WinZip was working fine with FlightGear stuff.

Hope this helps

yes, i use the launcher, and i see the rotating aircraft model, when i select the plane (fokker50) it stutters, and i cant play.

How do you know that it is the com*.xml files that are causing the problem? As many details as you have time for, will help me solve this problem!

mmmm... well, i guess that it are  because the old version work but the new version, no.

So Bisutti

Did you try Georg's idea?

If that doesn't work, then try commenting out (or even deleting) the com1 and com2 sections in the cockpit.xml file.

OK, then - try this.

Replace the cockpit.xml file (in aircraft/fokker50models) with this one:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/charlesnet/f ... ockpit.xml

It has the com*.xml files commented out, so we can isolate that problem.

Thanks for your continued help with this- I suspect that this is a Windows only issue, but am not sure. Are there any other Win users who can help troubleshoot?

So the new cockpit.xml fixed the problem?

If that's the case, then it is still the com*.xml files that seem to cause the problem. Can any FG experts help troubleshoot this? Preferably a Windows user, as the snag does not seem to manifest itself on Linux.

Go on!

Sure, especially if you make it separately available. Are you aware of our official IRC channel? irc://irc.flightgear.org/#flightgear There are lots of experienced FlightGear developers there, both programmers and aircraft creators, and such questions are there usually resolved within minutes. (No need to hang around there for hours if you don't want to. :-)

As discussed in IRC, the problem was that 'com1' and 'com2' are reserved names in DOS/Windows.

FokkerCharlie: I verified that your new archive (same URL) with com1.xml and com2.xml renamed works. However, you still have a nasal error:

http://www.rato.us/flightgear/fokker2.gif

You might drop back in on the IRC channel to get some help on that.

Good stuff!

I've uploaded a new version that doesn't give me the nasal error, not sure about that 'Object radios not found' business that you have in the image, RatOmeter?

As I mentioned on the irc, I hope that Windows users being able to fly it will encourage other modellers to join in the Fokker Fun!

Cheerio
