and the xml files too i use the good key.

The keys are ctrl-d toggle SAS and ctrl-e toggle CAS.

Do you get any error messages in the log window? What version of FG are you using?

I use the 1,9,1 on a mac.
But since the 1,9 flightgear don't see my numpad, and some keys...
But the keyboard file is the same that the 1,0.
It makes me this error on CVS too

I am not sure if I get you there, are you saying you're using the keyboard.xml file from FG 1.0.0 with 1.9.1/CVS? If so, I don't think that is good idea. Since 1.9.x the keys are handled by OSG which was not involved at the 1.0.0 version at all. So it is very likely that this old file just don't work anymore.

No i don't use the xml file from 1,0 i just say that between the keyboard.xml from 1,0 and 1,9 there is no difference so i don't know where is the problem

jiraya,

to verify if all keys are recognised and which value each has, you can edit keyboard.xml that it prints the keycodes.

Look for the following lines, close to the top of the file, and uncomment the second one:
Code: Select all
## uncomment this line to get keycode reports printed to the terminal window
#setlistener("devices/status/keyboard/event", func(n) debug.dump(n.getValues()));

Nope, he means removing the leading hash caracter (#), not the whole line.

Ahoy Heiko,

I stumbled on a little issue with the Crane's CAS/SAS:
If the wind is about 15 kts or faster and CAS and SAS are engaged, then it is not possible to make a 360° turn while hovering. As soon as the Crane heads the wind it is stuck in this position. Not able to turn to the left nor right by using tail rotor only.
If CAS is disengaged it is possible to make a full turn but it is close to stuck at the positions when the wind is coming from 90° or 270°.
If both, CAS and SAS, are disengaged the tail rotor is powerfull enough to make full 360° turn 'as expected'.
The issue is, I still haven't found any data on the Cranes limits for saftey operation. Therefore I have no clue which behaviour I really 'should expect' but 15 kts seems very few to me.

Just for fun I've digged into the several nasal files but, this time 'as expected', i was totally lost there. I cannot even tell if it is located in the Aircanes or the Generic nasal file(s). I'll make some flights with the OH-1 later; maybe I am able to figure something out. I am not up to date with FG's progress, are there any other helis in git using the SAS/CAS stuff?

Grüß Gottle Flughund,

It sounds like the SAS yaw-axis is set to too high values. The same for the CAS.
I think the Aircrane should be able to handle crosswinds up to 30ktn. (Newer helis can handle up to 50ktn mostly without problems, but depends their settings of course...)

The SAS/ CAS is quite complex, and documentation isn't available. CAS is on real helis used as part of the autopilot, as I know. So you might wanna play with the fcs-management.nas in Aircrane/Nasal. Just play a bit the output setting, especially "yaw".

The Ec135 uses an older version of the SAS/CAS, but helijah's helicopter are to my knowledge all equipped with this.

Hey HHS.

Not all, but almost. For example, the UH 60 are no fcs system..... But is this a good example for a helicopter FDM, I'm not absolutely sure lol

Some test flying later it seems that the issue is generic. The OH1 shows the same behaviour as the AirCrane, at other windspeeds, though. I've also tested the Tigre once and it does the same. The ec135 acts much better, I haven't seen any impact on controls when CAS is enabled.

Well, I am not a nasal geek and personally I've disabled CAS by default. So I better keep my hands off that code ;)

You've been told this before - I'm sure many people are getting fed up with this. Stop 'necroposting'!

If you want liveries for the Aircrane, start a topic in the liveries subforum - it's there for a reason, you know.
