If you are ok, maybe you could make a partial translation so I can begin to experiment the UTF-8 stuff. Few strings appearing in the Wizard would be enough.

Dutch translations finished!

Postby Stefan Riemens » Mon Jan 21, 2008 8:27 pm

The dutch translation is finished! I've added quite a lot of comments, I hope it is usable (in other words, please report back any wrong translations or perhaps way too long strings... English just happens to be a more powerful language --> in English it takes less words to say something than it takes in Dutch)

Stefan

PS, it is available for download here:

Hey!

Dont be so impatient!
mfranz (real name unknown :) ) has written an inquiry which I read on the german forum about a german translator for fgrun. So here I am.
German is definetely not a common language in the world (greetings to Gijs :D ), but... Whatever!
I think I can send you a first test-version of the .po-file on Monday to tell me about any major mistakes I may have possibly made.
Please tell me the address to where I can send the file.
EDIT: I do have the address, no need to send.

Ciao,
Adrian

Thank you Adrian. But german isn't the only missing language :)
There is still room for others.

Hi mayuhao,

as I already said, fgrun as it is now cannot display non latin fonts, because fltk 1.1 doesn't support UTF-8. I don't know if there is a possibility to display chinese font without using UTF-8.

Fltk 2 supports UTF-8, but there is no ( stable ) release yet. I am thinking about creating an experimental branch of fgrun using fltk 2, so I am interested in a partial translation ( the wizard ) in a non latin language.

If you can help me with that aspect, I will be very grateful

I tried to create gmo files but I get something like this:
Code: Select all
...

pl:
msgmerge pl.po fgrun.pot -o pl.new.po
..................................... done.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jimmy/fgrun-1.0.1/po'
make update-gmo
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jimmy/fgrun-1.0.1/po'
rm -f pl.gmo && : -c --statistics -o pl.gmo pl.po
mv: unable to do stat on `t-pl.gmo': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [pl.gmo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory`/home/jimmy/fgrun-1.0.1/po'
make: *** [update-po] Error 2

It looks like you don't have gettext tools :
rm -f pl.gmo && : -c --statistics -o pl.gmo pl.po

There is a missing command in that line, after the &&. There should be msgfmt

Check your config.log

go to $FG:ROOT/data/Translations and you'll see translations to italian, french, dutch, polish and german... you then should edit options.xml, the language option.
good luck
