You know, this variant of the DC-9?

I'm wondering if anyone's working on a 717 for FlightGear, as I haven't really seen one around teh internets. Anyone know if there's a 717 in development?

There actually IS a difference between the MD-80 and the Boeing 717, and that would be the cockpit.

For example, the Boeing 717 cockpit:

...And the MD-80 cockpit:

(Sorry if the MD-80 cockpit is a bit big, I couldn't find any good images of the MD-80 cockpit that were smaller than that)

Also, for the record, the Boeing 717 is closer to the MD-90 than the MD-80, so if someone starts working on the MD-90 then maybe someone else could stretch it out a bit and update the cockpit a bit for a 717.

well no offense but everytime someone says "whats one more" both the projects end up dead and unreleasable...... but if you feel you could do that i would be overjoyed!

Yeah, it'd be worth the wait. I'm interested in flying this thing.

Also, I'd preferably have AirTran livery, as they're the largest B717 operator as of now :P (You can make any livery you wish, I just suggested AirTran as they're the only major operator of the 717 that I can think of right now. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, if you wish for a list of various operators of the 717, then go to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_717#Operators)

yep, i can help with the livery and once i figure out blender i might be able to model it.
i suggest we begin with fdm. then model. then all major stuff then mini stuff like textures and autopilot and animations.

okay, i just found out how pathetic blender is with planes. So, let's begin malik. first, let's do the fdm. the 717 is a little similar to the 727 which is similar to the 737.so I guess we could use the 737 fdm, but personally I prefer Yasim, so lets start with the crj fdm and edit that up. malik, please start modeling the 717, start with exterior, get as much detail as possible, the start the cockpit. also, when modeling, model it with the gear DOWN.
