anyone else notice the RPMs on that engine?

and thunder and lightning without a cloud in the sky...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Also that texture stretch. Photoscenery is used in this area.
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

Did anyone manage to put the c172 into a spin?
I just tried in „realistic“ settings and it won’t stall.

Well, just installed the new VR update and getting ready to try it for the first time. If it works well and is exciting enough, maybe I will have to work on the source code for a change and add some modern VR support. We'll see!

Wow, not a whole lot of time to play with it, but that is really cool. Still a ways to go, it's just not the resolution you would wish for, but not bad.
There is one thing I noticed though because of the 3-dimentional aspects. The ai they are using to figure out the terrain from the ortho layer is unbelievable. Specifically, I noticed when flying over terrain I am intimately familiar with that it is actually doing a outstanding job of placing trees in the correct locations. Not only that, it changes the size according to what it is seeing. How it does this is crazy. There are areas I hunt that have different aged trees in spots, older forests and younger tree rows. Well this program for the most part gets it right. Unbelievable if you ask me. I didn't notice it until I saw it in VR.

Yes: if FGCom-mumble's radioGUI can read out the values with SimConnect: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/i ... -777271832

Would be cool if you would drop in this test when you do other MSFS stuff;
just run the jar, open the RadioGUI menu option, slave it to SimConnect and see if the GUI's values are synced with MSFS?

@benih I don't have any of the mentioned platforms setup on my Windows OS.
If you want to send me the "easy install" steps for everything via PM I'll be glad to give it a try, including the "running" of a Java jar file, would that require Java Sun or something?

Yes, you just need a Java runtime version 11 or above: https://www.oracle.com/java/technologie ... loads.html

Then a double click on the radiogui jar (Link above/previous posts) should start it.

Once you see the radiogui, select the simcinnect option from the „options“ menu and start msfs.
Changes to location, callsign and radios should be mirrored in the fields of the gui.

Saying that, does the msfs key bindings offer some ptt binding?
Theoretically with that you should be able to activate the ptt in radiogui, but you can’t see it there - at the very down of the app there is a cryptic status bar telling the packet.
Look there if the field COM1_PTT=0 changed to ...=1 when activating msfs ptt.
