I'm on debian testing.

Btw, for local testing, once you got everything compiled:

- start murmurd
- setup a channel "fgcom-mumble"
- start two mumble instances ("mumble -m", the second one simulates a remote user)
- start two radioGUIs, and configure the second to send to port 16662 (in the options of the application)
- start using the PTT-buttons in the GUI.

=> You should now hear each others radios.
You can experiment with location, frequencies, etc. from that point on.

If the plugin or mumble crashes, just kindly restart mumble and retry.
The plugin should work fairly well already, but i still notice some random and rare crashes here.

Released 0.7.0: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/r ... ag/v.0.7.0
This release brings a new unique Logo :)
But aside of that, it again fixes some smaller bugs and improvements in the build process.

The more visual new features are:
  • Some segfaults and memory leaks were fixed
  • RadioGUI was enhanced a little bit
  • The mumble plugin supports a new option now, that enables to hear non-plugin users in the channel (interesting for ATCs serving plugin- and non-plugin users in the same channel at the same time)

As with the previous versions, you need the lua mumble module compiled for the server side, as well as a build of mumble development branch 1.4.0 with plugin support for the client.

We got a test server!

Details: http://wiki.flightgear.org/FGCom-mumble#Servers

To test, you still need to self compile a mumble branch; more details on FGCom-mumble's wiki page linked above.
On a debian/bullseye box this is quite easy, i wrote a little guide for that: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/w ... eye-system

It would be cool, if we could gather a few people willing to test and have a chat over the radio. We just need participants and a timeslot :)
I'm in Germany and available usually evenings at 1900-2200 UTC.

I made a prebuild mumble binary for testing; this should work when you have mumble installed already (so all the libs are in place):
http://fgcom.hallinger.org/mumble-fgcom-test.tar.gz

This was compiled on debian testing against QT core 5.15.1

I will conduct some canarian island hopping at Friday evening (19:30 - ~ 21:00 UTC) around Teneriffa/Gran Canaria with my beloved C182.

My first leg will be starting at La Palma (GCLA), heading around the island and then south visiting El Hierro, then east to look at La Gomera, finally to land there (GCGM). If its still funny, i may also skip landing there and fly clockwise around Teneriffe to land either north at GCXO or south at GCTS.

I will be connected to fgcom.hallinger.org and monitor the frequency 122.75 MHz, Callsign D-EBHX.
You check see my status and position at the FGCom-mumble status page: http://fgcom.hallinger.org/ (position should also be reflected at the mpserver map)

Anyone would join my flight to test FGCom-mumble?

First leg of Testing trip to be read here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35200&p=377418#p377418

(tldr; very nice flight, with nice people; unfortunately issues beyond FGCom-mumble preventing testing)

The next leg will bring us from La Gomera to Teneriffe, which will be rounded clockwise. Then south to Gran Canaria, which is to be rounded counter-clockwise, finally landing at Gran Canaria.
This trip is estimated to take about 1:30 hrs.

The last leg will let us overfly Fuertaventura and further north to Lanzarote, again about one hour, maybe more if we decide to also scout the last island a little.

I try to make the next leg on Friday, 19:30 UTC. I will be on the Airport for some time doing preflight and stuff, so that is the time i can help fix issues. I want to try to depart at about 20:00, but thats not so important.

As last time, i will monitor the frequency 122.75 MHz, Callsign D-EBHX.
The mumble host is again mumble://fgcom.hallinger.org
I configured my fgcom-mumble.ini so that i should hear non-plugin users too (and you should hear me anyways, because the plugin is client-side+receiving only).

It would be cool if someone would join in with the plugin active!

Released 0.8.0: https://github.com/hbeni/fgcom-mumble/r ... ag/v.0.8.0
For details refer to the release page entry.

In short:
  • We can run mumble+plugin on a remote machine now. This allows for more easy testing: it should be possible to set up a small virtual machine for the mumble testing environment, install for example debian testing, compile mumble (or use the precompiled one: http://fgcom.hallinger.org/mumble-fgcom-test.tar.gz), install the plugin and go flying by letting flightgear send the UDP packets to the VM.
  • i fixed a bug that broke the plugin working when tuning a 8.33 frequency.

Just to clarify: Todays departure is La Gomera (GCGM). I will start on parking Puesto_1.
If the weather is bad, i will switch to "Fair weather".
I will use "Dawn" as starting time.

The probably last leg will again be on Friday, 19:00 UTC from GCLB. I take the parking spot Ramp_3.

Hi benih.
Just reporting a broken link in the 1rst page post.

The new mumble 1.14 plugin API looks promising.

Cheers

Hi Benith:

I've been talking to Michat about the fgcom-mumble.

The plugin failed at the beginning because it was asking for library GLIBC 2.9, but I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 with GLIBC 2.7.

The problem fixed after recompiling the plugin, Mumble doesn't claims any more at start-up but the new plugin does not show at the plugins list at Mumble.

I did copy fgcom-mumble.xml to the right folder and add the line "--generic=socket,out,10,127.0.0.1,16661,udp,fgcom-mumble" to flightgear launcher.

After launch FG with Cessna172 selected at GCLP, http://fgcom.hallinger.org/ keeps showing "current users = 0".

Will you please help me.

Thanks in advance.
