Forgive the sow updates, my life and health has been quite turbulent.

I made many changes to the AFS today improving and optimizing logic. If anyone notices weird behavior of the AFS modes please let me know instantly! I did test everything but I am not perfect.

APU also doing more research to make him work.

Been learning a bit of 3D modelling too slowly for the Secret project so had a few less times. A good skill to get into nevertheless!

Kind Regards,
Josh

Little update from me:

APU totally resimulated.

- Proper startup/shutdown logic/control
- APU variable speed simulation, depending on bleed load on the APU, from 63% n1 to 100% n1. n2 is always 100%
- EGT simulated
- APU Generator redone completely to be realistic
- APU Door
- Misc fixes to things
- APU Pwr switch on electrical system now will power on the APU, in that mode it will connect on bus as soon as its available and APU gen is allowed. This differs from when you start it from the APU panel, it won't come online automatically.
- Fixed bug in hydraulic system, can't turn off the engine pumps even in manual mode - I wrote electrical instead of hydraulics in the system logic... sorry...

Left to do on the APU is the 90 sec delay after bleed is used and a few minor things.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Now when you lose hydraulic power! You will notice the surfaces behave much more realistically with gravity and a airflow rather than just dropping at once!

Now, If you use a APU BLEED
When you press the APU switch to shut down, he will wait 90 seconds from when the bleed was unused before he turns off.

Fixed drawing of the FPV birdie
the axis of translation rotates but the birdie itself should not rotate - I yawed a bit here so you can see it.

I am happy to report the MD-11 is 2020.3.0 and compositor-compatible.

Working on some backend updates to the Canvas displays (performance) and a few other tweaks, also put the ITAF Beta versions into the MD-11's ITAF_Core to help get it tested properly.

I completely rewrote the Inertial Reference Units today, now he is much more better and the bug where IRS never aligns when not skipping is fixed - now you can use real IRS align time if you wish (or change to instant in acconfig if you want less realism)

The current IRS now can do everything the old one could with pretty much no frame impact this time (no more stupid things from when I was not as experienced) and a few things more. Will be adding more detail and things especially with the DUs soon

Happy flying

josh

Completely rewrote the EAD display today into far more efficient Canvas/Nasal code.

He will taken FAR less frames away now, on my machine, barely anything.

Will do the PFD in a bit aswel.

josh

PFD rewrite done! FPS bump inbound!

Image

PLEASE test and let me know either here or via discord if there are any problems in the rendering of the PFD! I tested everything and seemed fine on my end.

Also fixed the DUAL LAND bug where it would revert to SINGLE LAND when reversers deploy on landing.

Kind Regards,
josh

Sorry for no works. Been having troubles with health + busy at work so not alot of FG time these days :( :( :(

But here you have:
Image
In preperation for acconfig 2.0 and the Systems Display, I refactor the DU code to set the value in FPS.

in 30 FPS in a fast PC
in 5 FPS in a ultra-slow PC
you can set according.

20 is default, I find this value slowest rounded that still looks smooth and not jerky. (same speed that they run at before)

Kind Regards,
Josh

I drew the first page of the SD today. Needs to be animated still.

Image
Shoutout to MD-11 FO Jeff, who provided me with more high quality photos of the various synoptics. Hopefully that and the FCOM allow me to draw it really well like the other ones!

Thanks Jeff!

Edit: I just now realized the FUEL text is misplaced.. will fix sorry!

Animated on the SD:
- Stab trim
- Oil PSI and QTY with QTY drop during start and reference line
- APU stuff
- GW, Fuel
- Also fixed the shapes of some things better, they were drawn a little off compared to the real image.

Also changed the FADEC law, now the manual throttle from the joystick can control up to the maximum thrust limit as per real life, so no more hard limiting at climb or cruise limits. If you need more power you can push it up higher (note that there IS a hard limit at T/O, G/A, or MCT, whichever is higher (MCT is higher at cruise, G/A is higher low down. During T/O, G/A limit is ignored as Go around power is unavailable, so the limit is as T/O.) Autothrust still obeys the thrust limits. Arm your autothrottles before takeoff (push AUTOFLIGHT while on ground before takeoff run, or during advancing throttles) and it'll be managed as always.

More soon

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi,
PIP: Aero now has CLDA for 4 ailerons, that you can see the improvement from drooped flap during PIP usage (takeoff)
Added Oil Qty low indications

COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY OVERHAUL THE DISPLAYS MANAGER! Now the efficiency is maximized and the power on/off is synchronized even with the FPS setting is different.

Kind Regards,
Josh
