Mid Kansas they're mostly to the south. Mars was up on the east at around midnight. I think I saw Venus in the east right before sunrise (I think that was a week ago and it was rising with the moon)?
I have just been out (23.30 Lisbon/London summer time, 22.30 GMT) with my 10x50 binoculars and found it just to the left of the "box" of ursa major. It is much dimmer, but still easy to see once found, Sorry no pictures. The sky here is very clear tonight, which is why I gave it a try.
