FG 2019.1.1 + 737-800 Throttle Control (PgUp/PgDn)

Postby bob » Thu Nov 07, 2019 9:50 pm

Hi,

I think the PgUp/PgDn keys (throttle) no longer work on the 737-800 since upgrading to FG 2019.1.1. Can anybody repeat this?

System:
    Win10
    FG2019.1.1
Downloaded Aircraft:
    Boeing 737-800 (org.flightgear.fgaddon.trunk/Aircraft/737-800/738-set.xml)
    Boeing 777 (org.flightgear.fgaddon.trunk/Aircraft/777/777-300-set)
Things I've tried on 737-800:
Keys [ and ] extend and retract flaps correctly
Cursor keys and mouse move yoke correctly
G retracts undercarriage (fun when 737 is still on the ground!)
Things I've tried on default Cessna 172P and on downloaded Boeing 777:
    PgUp/PgDn throttle is fine
All other controls seem to work
Any help or feeback for fixng the 737-800 appreciated thank you.

Try using 9 to increase and 3 to lower throttle.

Thanks for the idea but keys 9 and 3 on the numeric keypad don't work either. Tried with Num Lock off and on just in case but still no throttle control.

IIRC, the ones on the number pad are for trim... not throttle... the system can/does actually tell the difference between the keys... even with number lock on and off... try the 3 and 9 above your QWERTY row, maybe?
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

After some more testing:

3 and 9 on the top row of the keyboard (above QWERTY) don't change the throttle either.

If it helps I can now add that DEL applies reverse thrust. It seems as if it's only PgUp + PgDn that doesn't work.

I noticed there are some debug options in FGFS. Is it possible to view keyboard input in some kind of debug console?

Hi Simon,
This thread went quiet and I haven't tried the same aircraft for a long time.
Good luck...

Try this 738 https://github.com/YV3399/737-800YV im using this one on a very profesional network and i have no problem with throttles. Making up from your post your using the FGaddon 738 and i can recommend to give the linked 737-800 a try. When installing this aircraft you must remove -master from the folder name when extracting the plane into documents/aircraft and you must tell FG via add-ons where you installed this airplane! I hope i could be of any help!
