Regarding repositories - the plan is to have the work in my fork merged into the c182s repository. Hopefully in time for 2018.3.

The 182S and 182T are very similar except for the cockpit, so there's little point in having two separate aircraft.

it would be interesting to know if this is FGPositioned/NavCache related or due to the sheer number of properties (I/O).
Like I mentioned previously, it would make sense to have a discussion if/how the sc::Element class is fully exposed to Nasal (via NasalElement), so that custom elements can be prototyped/implemented in scripting space. At that point, it would also be pretty straightforward to come up with a new Canvas element that directly operates on so called "Positioned" ghosts, so that the property I/O would be much lower, i.e. we would only make a handful of parameters configurable, such as the symbol/image to use, the size/style - and everything else would go directly through C++ space, without any unnecessary property/Nasal overhead

I understand, thanks. On a second thought indeed it doesn't make much sense to have two repos for it, I apologize.
Keep up with the awesome work in the c182. It is high in the list of my favourite planes.
Thank you!

Nice work!
Just some points do consider :)
- I'd suggest contacting HHS, here or on github (https://github.com/HHS81/c182s) as well as Stuart maybe, to coordinate development with them.
- Please note that you can't use non GPL-compatible images from the internet as textures and have to remove them before publishing the aircraft, but I think you already know this and probably it was your intention anyway.
- From the image you posted, it seems like the switch panel is a bit too big, check the position of the upper end in relation to the knobs on the (F)G1000.
Again, good work :D

- I wil try to contact them, but the repo has had no activity for a long time...
-The image texture is provisional, im only using it to know where to put the buttons and switches, its to low res anyways. Im now creating the a new texture from scratch on gimp for it.
-The size of the panel it quite difficult to get it right, but yeah it need adjustment.

Hi Paju1986,

That is great work!

I'd be delighted to merge your work into the repos when you feel it is ready.

Bear in mind that the dimensions of the aircraft model itself may not be quite right. It might be possible to find the parts manual for the panel you are modeling, which might help with dimensions.

well, i think the dimensions should be more or less acceptable, i took the knob of the left on the garming as height reference and the third button from the left as width reference, as its shown on photos of the real aircraft.
I will try to put a merge request from my repo to your repo as soon as i have the instrument lights knobs working and a few other small things.

what is the nasal property to adjust the brightness of the g1000 screens? i need that for the avionics lighting knob, its the last one i need to get working.

The rest of the lighting is now working:

I have also cleaned up the bottom panel removing all the switches etc that are now on the left panel.

- New panel lightmap
- Cleared up the panel texture
- combined panel and new switchpanel textures into one.

Quick demo:

Great work! I don't currently have a control for the brightness of the FG1000 screens. Is that controlled from the panel?

I can look into providing a property for this.

This is a very nice work, paju1986!

Is it possible to download and test your C182T?

Please, consider merging your work with HHS and/or FGData
