I certainly made ALS lights so you might be looking at the wrong one there?

There should be a ALS landing light visible (a bright white spot under the propeller), easy way to tell if you have the right one?

The one with the ALS landing light (both illuminating the runway AND a white spot) should also have ALS navigation lights unless something changed.

We are not talking about your plane. I am referring to the 1979 Warrior by David Megginson sorry for the confusion but I deliberately didn't put it on the other thread.

The landing light is there, yes. But no ALS for all other lights.

PS: I mean procedural lights.
If you mean corona (animated as billboards), its also not there.

It seems it's just shift %.

you've written this a couple of times, now... do you mean "shift 5" instead? there is no shifted "%" that i'm aware of

I am now experiencing the same 'ballooning' when switching off KAP 140 as is happening on the IDG PA28. Do both planes use the same AP code.

No, they are not.

It's odd because I use KAP 140 on several other planes but they don't react in the same way. The only common factor with the two PA28 is the Garmin 196, although because there is no GPS link on the 1979 I don't actual activate it.

could you be seeing the effect of wind buffeting? do you have real weather (aka active weather) turned on?

i've had some real bouncing around in the c172p at times due to the weather...

It's not the wind, it happens every time regardless of wind strength. It is a serious ballooning like 1000 feet up then it's difficult to control when it finally comes down.

can you try this? before you turn off the KAP140, hit the '5' on your number pad to ensure the controls are centered and then turn off the device...

my thinking is that you've maybe gotten the controls uncentered and the KAP140 was compensating... when you turned it off, it returned its control of the surfaces to center and your control of the surfaces took over and off you went... depending on the craft, you might be able to hit the 'h' key and bring up the default system HUD which will show you where your controls are and if the system may be using the trim to compensate...
