Make sure you perform all the steps explained here, especially the last step solved the crashing issue for me with the new osm shader buildings.

Do you think we could get these changes committed into fg?

If you have Kansas on you world build, I would be interested in testing it. My "aged" osm2city Kansas build is failing and I would be interested to see how much the OSM scenery has changed over the years since I built it. Also I should be able to provide you opinions and details about the formatting of the scenery for this area of the world.

I tried to download a couple chuncks from your site and it failed with a timeout.

Yeah... sorry about that... my server is still down... will fix begin of dec... if you want, you can download it from sf: https://sourceforge.net/projects/osm2ci ... iles/v0.1/

i'm not yet into customizing options for certain parts of the world... first i have to successfully get it back running and building

Short x-mas status update:
I've reworked the worldbuild scripts with some internal improfments. Notable changes are more flexibility in database use and the base for multi machine computing so it will be very easy to run it across multiple machines in future (If I've got more then one, that can handle the task).
Another thing I've started to implement is a better status reporting which leads to better continuation after interruptions as well as opens the possibility to show a colored map, representing the build progress.
You can find it here

In addition the way the reporting works (using a json status file) will enable further usecases: ie. flagging a tile for rebuild, if the terrasync scenery on that tile has changed since generation.

I'm currently waiting for the last test builds to complete.

When they are done I'll probably kick off the build.

Merry Christmas

A download link for each tile in the progress map would be nice.

Do you want to download half complete tiles?

In addition... Currently tiles don't get packaged automatically to simplify and speed up the building.

Aren't W180S80 and W170S80 marked as "done" on the map?

Do you have a new hosting solution for very large tiles?

I was interested in testing the v1 build for the central european tiles, but I never found a working link.
(No need to upload those separately if it affects your preparation of the next build.)

Yes, W180S80 and W170S80 are done, but not pacakged (no zip file created) I still have to script the creation of the zip files (I haven't completly decided yet, how to do this).

Central europe hasn't been build in the first run.

As for the next build... it's already running.

Hi,
I still have around 1 Tb free on my server (hosting some TS + world scenery + TGweb data (SRTM3, some OSM & co)). Could be use for CPU or file hosting.

What do you mean by CPU hosting?

If you'd like to provide a mirror, you can pull recursive from here and tell me, where to link to For updating, either check once a week or so, or provide me a hook I can call after I've packaged something new.

Thanks for the info. I'll wait for run #2 to reach Europe and get packaged then. :)

Yes, sorry I wasn't clear I meant if you need CPU ou RAM for computation other than disk space.

Would be nice to try it out. I'm just not sure, about the performance impact, when accessing the db remotly from my server. But it would defenetly worth a trail.
