W001N61 missing

Postby cj75s » Wed Aug 14, 2019 10:57 pm

Hi

I was placing some oil platforms in the northern north sea i.e. North east of Shetland, using the UFO.
On completion I pressed 'e' and went to the ufo file and copied the Object_share lines ready for pasting. The file told me the objects were placed in W010N60/W001N61/xxxxxxxx.stg
so I browsed over to W010N60 but could not find W001N61.

Here is a copy of the output file. I've only included the first platform object as the others were the same really.

<PropertyList><models><model><legend type="string"/>
<heading-deg type="double">0</heading-deg>
<pitch-deg type="double">0</pitch-deg>
<roll-deg type="double">0</roll-deg>
<path type="string">Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac</path>
<latitude-deg type="double">61.2931387</latitude-deg>
<longitude-deg type="double">-0.3009144595</longitude-deg>
<elevation-ft type="double">-1.169182971</elevation-ft
><absolute-path type="string">/usr/share/games/flightgear/Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac</absolute-path>
<stg-path type="string">w010n60/w001n61/2942418.stg</stg-path>
<stg-heading-deg type="double">0</stg-heading-deg>
<elevation-m type="double">-0.3563669697</elevation-m>
<object-line type="string">OBJECT_SHARED Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac -0.30091446 61.29313870 -0.3564 0.0 0.0 -0.0</object-line>
</model><model n="1"><legend type="string"/><heading-deg type="double">0</heading-deg>
<pitch-deg type="double">0</pitch-deg><roll-deg type="double">0</roll-deg>
<path type="string">Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac</path>
<latitude-deg type="double">61.34513993</latitude-deg>
<longitude-deg type="double">-0.3036038616</longitude-deg>
<elevation-ft type="double">-0.4827087623</elevation-ft>
<absolute-path type="string">/usr/share/games/flightgear/Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac</absolute-path>
<stg-path type="string">w010n60/w001n61/2942418.stg</stg-path>
<stg-heading-deg type="double">0</stg-heading-deg>
<elevation-m type="double">-0.1471296307</elevation-m>
<object-line type="string">OBJECT_SHARED Scenery/Models/Misc/oilrig09.ac -0.30360386 61.34513993 -0.1471 0.0 0.0 -0.0</object-line>
</model>

As you can see the stg path type is set to that folder w001n61but it deosnt exist in its parent folder w010n60.

Could I just create the folder called W001N061 within the folder W010N60 and write an stg file with my placed platform Object_share data?

The idea is that oneday when I find my old joystick I shall then have 2 sticks to fly a chopper out there.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi cj75s,

W001N61 is all ocean, which are not generated. So even though this is a valid tile location, the fact that it is an empty location is why you cannot find it.

Yes, you can manually create the folder. Custom scenery should be placed into a folder separate from the TerraSync maintained folders to avoid having TerraSync overwrite your changes.

Suggestion:
/fgCustomScenery/mystuff/Objects/W010N60/W001N61/2942400.stg
Then configure the Launcher to look for scenery in this folder
Launcher > Add-ons > Additional Scenery Folders > /fgCustomScenery/mystuff
