You should figure out that Korolev died when it came out his Moon project would be not realised most probably. It was medical mistake, believable, but no medicine could save someone lost interest to life anyway.

Gagarin, should be, was intentionally killed, when it became completely clear - for specialist - what USSR would not be at Moon first, while Soviet program was smaller, so would not impress people at second place, and there was no resources for bigger one at reasonable amount of time.

They would not came to tell anything. They said anything needed by their passing.

As of me - I am not Gagarin, nor Korolev. I am specialist at other area, of, You know, false ideas and ways to dispel these. But if someone has these at clinical degree, and these could not be dispelled by facts, and experimental proofs proving these, than it's not to me, of course, but to psychiatrist.

If history were like FG (Part III):

(A year later)

Korolev: Now your space program has finally collapsed.
Glushko: Not at all - the re-usable spacecraft program is doing very well - many nations envy us, it's one of the most sophisticated spacecraft around.
Korolev (gloomy voice): But it can't fly to the Moon.
Glushko: Told you long ago - not interested.
Korolev (in gloomier voice): And my Vostok rocket is not taken care of and no longer flies - it's just impossibe to do without me.
Glushko: Not at all - there's some technical spin-offs from my space program, and I've modernized and adapted the Vostok rocket, so now it not only flies but works better than ever.
Korolev: How dare you touch my work!
Glushko: Well, given how you haven't done anything relevant for a few years...
Korolev: You should have done the Moon rocket!!!
Glushko: The one you wanted but never even started to work on?
Korolev (a bit of foam around the mouth): That doesn't matter - your space program has failed!!!! You have not reached the Moon!!!

What a useless conversation... why do either of you even bother?

It's kind of entertaining coming up with these small alternate history pieces. :D

Adult people are not interested in simulation on itself. Never. They may be interested in it if they are

1) Selling it to kids, kids parents really, as kids are not payable. It may be good thing, or bad thing, but not our case. No-one buying that simulator at needed degree, and long enough to know no-one will.
2) Using it as trainer. No one would get us to space really, while we on ourselves could not get far with simulation of it even. Nothing to train for.
3) Using it as test pad, for things which are too dangerous or are too expensive to test objectively. I did it, just by way not so many people would expect.

While You are just kid maybe. And would not grew up never, too. It's Your problem. Do not care.

This is going to be interesting :D

I imagine then a rather large number of exceptions to the above rules exist, correct?

If history were like FG (Part IV):

(after not having been seen for a long time, Korolev appears again in the space agency, a strange flicker in his eyes)

Glushko: Comrade - long time no see.
Korolev: No Moon rocket!
Glushko: Yes comrade - I told you long ago, not interested. But Chelomei has one these days, if you want to send a payload, contact him.
Korolev (wild-eyed): Doesn't count!!!
Glushko: Why not? We're on good terms with his team, exchange informations,... and it flies to the Moon.
Korolev (roars): Not the same!
Glushko: Okay, okay... So why didn't you just construct one?
Korolev (calmer, but eyes wide): I never wanted one.
Glushko: Excuse me?
Korolev (mutters incoherently, only a few words can be understood): Socialism... experiment... failure... just like OpenSource... tested a theory...)
Glushko: Okay...
Korolev: (continues muttering): Adults never have fun... social experiment... Moon rocket...

Well, some people of mean physiological age not have fun only, but by using serious amounts of time and efforts of other people as basis, and then insulting them. I just don't consider these people adults.

As of Moon - still no Moon at FG, and will not be most probably.

If you're speaking in general - that may be quite true.

If you're speaking about FG spaceflight in particular, please identify clearly what of your time and efforts (in actual code blocks) have been used by whom so that it can be credited properly should your claim to be found true. I'm not aware of any of your efforts that has been used by others as basis (there's a tangible reason for that, with Vostok you've been working in a very awkward coordinate system which creates an Euler singularity ring at the horizon - I would not recommend anyone to base code on that problematic a coordinate system). Unless you want to take credit for analytical 2-body orbital mechanics (which, sorry to say, you really did not invent).

As for insulting - when you come and complain that no one build a Moon rocket in FG, then claim you never wanted one in the first place and also never even tried yourself and somehow conclude that this is a grand social experiment that should have demonstrated anything - humor is really the only answer I can see to that, I fail to see how this can be meant seriously.

As of Moon - still no Moon at FG, and will not be most probably.

You have to change the theme, we've already covered that. :D

Remove, and be removed.

Fact is, that community predicts ability of bigger community to reach Moon for real. I do say it as social psychologist, who is I am.

How exactly it can not - does not matter really. Matter is it can not only.

But situation is more ore less clear. To make Moon flight, mankind does not have anything better than huge rocket principally still, exhausting 400 pounds of fuel and oxidizer for each pound on the Moon, and ~7500 for clean weight brought from there to here. That ratio could be reduced times, maybe, but not orders - 100 for this, 1000 for that.

While man had been at the Moon already, and to make that again could rise not pride only, but questions for what to make this, while a lot of real problems demanding solutions just at Earth.

Non-space simulator with possibility to fork it, and without huge company behind it, predicts development of such situation much more than space-oriented one, where all these problems meant to be solved already.

Waste of time: too unprofitable for work, too exhausting for hobby.

I'm a bit surprised that this would be news to you, but mankind ('much bigger community') has been on the moon for real already, so predicting that this will happen is... well... a bit redundant. I do say this as a person interested in the history of astronautics. :D

To make Moon flight, mankind does not have anything better than huge rocket principally still, exhausting 400 pounds of fuel and oxidizer for each pound on the Moon, and ~7500 for clean weight brought from there to here.

Mankind could use nuclear propulsion, but, well... people aren't exactly keen on the prospect of a nuclear reactor blowing up on the way to space.

Anyway - is there any connection between what you're saying and FG at all? Or does the crescendo of weirdness continue?
