Of late I've mostly been working on the HST and rendezvous issues - unless you can already rendezvous with ISS, I'm guessing you don't really need the beta branch because you won't be able to see HST.

There's no shortcut to get there - if you want to see it, you have to do it honestly (and it's rather propellant-critical) - so HST is a kind of challenge for the true enthusiasts.

Are you sure you are using the correct Shuttle? The current one has very good functionality. About 75% of the switches are clickable (almost all of them in the forward panels plus a good number on the rear panels) and what is more important - almost all of them actually work. The computer systems are replicated in very good detail. There isn't really any need for an update with more functionality since essentially that part is already done. That's why I'm wondering what Shuttle you are using - you are NOT using the Shuttle that is on FGMEMBERS and you are NOT using the shuttle by HerbyW? Because if your shuttle doesn't have good cockpit functionality it's the wrong shuttle.

Yes, Vincent, ensure you're using full cockpit details. Menu SpaceShuttle->Simulation Options -> Cockpit Details pushed to high.
If your graphic card supports it, click on every enhancements here.

Also, in the menu: View -> Rendering Options
-ALS should be on
-Shader Effects should be on Custom with all cursors pushed to maximum

Then, enjoy the show!

Please refer to the Shuttle manual - it describes not only a lot of theory in spaceflight but also the procedures you need to follow to get into orbit, stay there and de-orbit (and I've written it in order to not have to answer spaceflight basics again and again in the forum).

Take the time to read the wiki

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Space_Shuttle

And manual under documentation

In addition to reading up, the first one of these two videos about orbital mechanics might be of help.
Low-level flying — It's all fun and games till someone looses an engine. (Paraphrased from a YouTube video)
Improving the Dassault Mirage F1 (Wiki, Forum, GitLab. Work in slow progress)
Some YouTube videos

Hi, guys, I noticed something is not right! When I am in orbit for about 1 day, the space shuttle cockpit displays start to flicker as it was trying to go out. Any solution to this? Thanks!

Vincent

As the manual says, once a day is good. You can monitor the fuel cell tension going down on SPEC 69.
