I experimented on the original model to find out to what extent changing the texture would help improve realism. Replacing the featureless white improves the realism of the model, I think, still, it is low-polygon and not too realistic.

I am proceeding with my own mods to the Cessna 182 model. I had two nice flights in FG1 from KSFO to KHAF, then on to KSJC in VFR, navigating by compass and then by VOR. Very satisfying. The Cessna 182 has a good climb rate around 1000 fpm and a decent speed.

The original model needs a lot of improvement, with a strange bulging out cabin area. Exporting it to Wings 3D I think I can make into into a reasonable representation.

Also, I want to create a version with the (simulated) engine upgrade to IO 550 300 HP engine, and STOL mods. Is there a precedence for this? I can list by tail numbers in the launcher. Will the owners object to using the actual tail numbers?
