Hi all!
I didn't know the IL-62m is Specter's work, too.
I contacted him some weeks ago because of the Yak-40 which he made. He did a good job on it so far, but had to abandon it, as he said, because he doesn't have the time any more. So he gave me access to the repo, and I will continue his work. I was hoping to make a first commit this weekend, but, well, you know how time plans are:
optimistic schedule + usual delay = realistic schedule;
realistic schedule + expected unexpected delay = final time plan;
final time plan + unexpected unexpected delay = finishing time
So maybe in the next week...
Anyway, back to terms. The IL-62m is definitely an interesting plane, and I may take a look at it, but please don't expect too much; I'm making the AN-24B and now the Yak-40, too, that's really time consuming! However, that gives me (and you?) the opportunity to look out for "shared instruments" or "shared code" among the Yak, the AN, and the IL, as soviet planes often use the same or similar instruments/systems.
To me, that sounds like a perfect task for someone who (yes, you!
) is trying to make some first steps in aircraft modelling:
- gather information about the IL-62m,
- Identify what's missing AND is already contained in one of the planes mentioned above (or any other),
- copy and paste,
- make the needed adjustments, and finally, when you're happy with your work
- contact the authors and ask for commit access
Beware to NOT put files with another license than GNU/GPL into a GNU/GPL project or vice versa!
