I'm having trouble with the IL-62m which has an rear supporting wheel. Anyone knows how to retract it? I cannot takeoff with it. :?

I don´t think that this aircraft has been submitted to Flightgear. I assume that it is from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/il-62/. Perhaps you should get in touch with the author, or wherever you downloaded it from.

Looking at the code (although I've not tried it) it should be ctrl-g to retract the tail stanchion (thats what it is referred to in the yasim config)

EDIT: ctrl-g does work, and I managed to get it to take off

Thanks for telling me! Now i can takeoff properly :D

Edit: Is this IL-62 still supported or not? It misses some doors on the right side.

Well it's not a part of the Flightgear addons hangar so it's not supported by the flightgear project directly, but it's open source so you are free to make changes yourself.

The original creator is listed as sourceforge user specter, who might be contactable via

https://sourceforge.net/u/userid-1437579/profile/

but the last person to commit changes to the repository was Daniel (4 years ago) who should be contactable via

https://sourceforge.net/u/xcvb85/profile/

I think you need a sourceforge login to do this though

The 3D model is quite decent. It would have been beneficial to have this in FGAddon and given some love.
Ongoing projects(3D modelling): A320, MD-11, A350, B767

they may not have reached the point where they felt the craft was ready to be submitted... it is all up to the maintainer to make that decision... some will never be submitted for various reasons...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Hi all!

I didn't know the IL-62m is Specter's work, too.
I contacted him some weeks ago because of the Yak-40 which he made. He did a good job on it so far, but had to abandon it, as he said, because he doesn't have the time any more. So he gave me access to the repo, and I will continue his work. I was hoping to make a first commit this weekend, but, well, you know how time plans are:
optimistic schedule + usual delay = realistic schedule;
realistic schedule + expected unexpected delay = final time plan;
final time plan + unexpected unexpected delay = finishing time
So maybe in the next week...
Anyway, back to terms. The IL-62m is definitely an interesting plane, and I may take a look at it, but please don't expect too much; I'm making the AN-24B and now the Yak-40, too, that's really time consuming! However, that gives me (and you?) the opportunity to look out for "shared instruments" or "shared code" among the Yak, the AN, and the IL, as soviet planes often use the same or similar instruments/systems.
To me, that sounds like a perfect task for someone who (yes, you! :wink: ) is trying to make some first steps in aircraft modelling:
- gather information about the IL-62m,
- Identify what's missing AND is already contained in one of the planes mentioned above (or any other),
- copy and paste,
- make the needed adjustments, and finally, when you're happy with your work
- contact the authors and ask for commit access
Beware to NOT put files with another license than GNU/GPL into a GNU/GPL project or vice versa!

Repos:
AN-24B: https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/fgaddon/HEAD/tree/trunk/Aircraft/an24b/
Yak-40: https://sourceforge.net/p/yak40/code/ci/master/tree/ (better wait until I will have made my first commit, some files may be already obsolete by then)
IL-62m: https://sourceforge.net/p/il-62/code/ci/master/tree/

Sincerely Yours and Expecting major improvements by no later than next Saturday :P ,

Adrian
