After five hours of flight fuel reached a limit in tanks of wings L and R. But i hoped for 40000 pounds in the central tank, but he intended for work only of the second engine (in the tail). Then the plane began to lose the speed and height. How to start fuel pumping?

UPD: I found how to start fuel pumping. But did not find how to start engines in air

Hi wrg. The Center tank in the MD-11 doesn't work like the Center tank on other planes. One tank per engine are the main engines. The fuel system balances them automatically. If the center tank is greater than the max for the left and right wing, I believe it feeds first, then once it is equal to left or right, they feed from left, center, right equally. I'll have to check that logic thought.

The AUX tank is used as the "Center" tank in is other planes.

You could also turn the xfeeds on for other engines and feed only from center tank, but its better to do it the above way.

I will be rewriting the fuel system soon. I should rename the dialog, they should be called Tank 1, Tank 2, and Tank 3.

Kind Regards,
Josh

New update:
Flap Axis now supported, I rewrote our custom flap system to accommodate both keys/buttons and axis.
Ground effect now simulated in aero properly! Long overdue, but I did it finally.

Kind Regards,
Josh

The MD-11 now has a AFS Pitch Channel scheduled like the yoke. This means the computers will calibrate the deflection of the elevator to correspond with the Elevator Feel system when AFS is on, so if you switch off AFS by moving the yoke, the airplane responds in a predictable manor.

In addition, I fixed a few bugs introduced with the flap axis system

Josh

Latest MD-11 update:
New/Changed:
Aero: Ground Effect was slightly to strong, now better
Control: Spoilers and Flaps system refined, retard mode improved
Sim: Spoiler handler rewritten to support axis (but where is it in the joystick dialog?)
System: Fix AFS Disconnect logic in retard, some other misc fixes

Bugs fixed:
* Sometimes, autospoilers wouldn't deploy when touching down
* Sometimes, ATS would not drive the throttles completely to the idle stop
* Sometimes, LSAS PAP could prevent the aircraft from rotating completely
* After loading a panel state which changes the flap position, the flap lever would behave erratically
* The yoke might shake after AFS disconnect
* ATS turned off on touchdown, instead of reverser deployment
* Sometimes, autospoilers would disarm themselves for no reason
* Sometimes, the dial-a-flap setting was ignored and 15 was always used

Quite a nice list I squashed today!

Kind Regards,
Josh

Oh, there is interest here, however silent one. IDG MD-11 is indeed an awesome simulation plane, like all the other IDG planes. Thanks a lot for your and the IDG team's efforts!

We've decided to kill the "X" off the end of the IDG-MD-11. This change should be live shortly. Please update your remote via GIT and rename the folder. Thanks!

Attn: Josh FYI
Since 8 May the keyboard throttle keys i.e. 9 & 3 don't seem to work on the new MD-11.
Just found that evidently the F & E keys control the throttle.

Do you have keyboard mode on? If yes, please submit a bug report to GitHub issues.

Josh

Now enabling the Hydraulic Leak Failures will actually cause the QTY to drop. Before just the PSI dropped.
The SYS 3 Isolation Valve aka Souix City Valve now works off qty properly, which drives PSI. You want to try emergencies? Try the "Catastrophic Aft" failure in System Failures

And still, no nasal in this hydraulic! All done via JSBsim!

It appears to me that the fuel system currently doesn't behave like that. Left tank 1 seems to be assigned to left engine, center tank 2 to center engine, right tank 3 to right engine. So it happens that left and right tanks drain (with failure of left and right engine) while the center tank still contains a lot of fuel and only the tail engine continues running.

Did you use the equipment menu or the overhead panel?

Josh, I had the same problems, so could you please explain
- how to pump fuel between the tanks
- how to restart the engines inflight

Thanks!

Josh,
I know it's a small thing but you should add tire smoke upon landing to the md-11.

Hi LH,
thanks for the info. I'll revisit this when I do the integrated systems rewrite of the fuel system. I have the manuals and such, just need to find the time to actually do it (also assuming I don't decide to do Pneumatic first)

Right now, the packs are automatically turned off only while on ground during start. When I redo the ignition and startup system, I will check if that is correct or not. For now, just put AIR system into manual, turn off all 3 packs, then start the engines. Start buttons on then cutoffs at >14% N2 (blue line)

Hi naplesAPF
I don't really do visuals, so I don't really know how, but I'll give it a shot when I have time or ask someone I know to do it for me :)

Kind Regards,
Josh
