3.2 is screwed

I loved version 3.1 but when I upgraded to 3.2, the flight models and AP of all my favorite aircraft were acting bizarre. Seneca II and Cessna 337 were my staples. now they plunge to earth unexpectedly and just don't fly like they used to. I have time in the 182 and Seneca II, and the 3.1 models were really strong. 3.2 is so whacky I can't control it.

I removed and uninstalled everything FlightGear then re-installed 3.2. Same things. Even the Citation II is worse than before and the fixes I found aren't working in 3.2.

Sorry that makes no sense. Nothing was significantly changed in the autopilot code of either Property Rule or JSBsim elements that would cause that. (I know, been studying autoflight and control theory for years now and none of my planes, testing systems or tuning helpers have stopped working in 3.2, which I've used for months)

I know. Nevertheless, the planes I mentioned abruptly change pitch and the AP whacks everything out of sync. Strangely enough, the 182, which was squirrely in the 3.1 flies beautifully now. But I can't get very far in it. I have real hours in the Seneca II and love--used to love--it. I wish the Citation flew right; that was my favorite mid-distance plane.

What can I do? Are there files in some hidden place that I should know about?

This does not sound like a version change issue. More like something went haywire with the installation. Are you running on a higher end system?

I reinstalled and recalibrated my CH flight controls. I'm testing everything and am getting happier. The Citation is still whacked but I have developed some work-arounds. Will test other aircraft shortly.

it would be a really really good thing for folks to use the proper full version number of the sim, too... i've been ignoring this topic because v3.1 and v3.2 would be extremely ancient versions of FG... 2016.3.1, 2017.3.1 and 2018.3.1 would be newer but the latest would be 2019.3.1 or 2019.3.2... don't drop the year! it is important in the grand scheme of things...

Hi tfreriks,

i know that the autopilot of the Citation II is not the best and i will try to improve it.
But first i must repair or improve many other things on that aircraft.
I have started to brake the autopilot script in parts for flight director, autopilot and servos.
But i have never scripted a autopilot, so i dont know if it possible for me and when i have the time to do it.

Today, i have pushed a update to trunk. Now the tutorials and checklists should work again.
Also the autostart is repaired.

An update on the Citation II: I figured all the issues out and now I love it. Thanks for a (finally) great aircraft.

I'm not sure I followed up on this thread. I uninstalled 2018.3.1 and .2 then re-installed 2018.3.2 and now it seems solid. Not sure what the heck went wrong initially. But it's fine now.
