2019.1 Release

Postby Alex H » Tue Mar 19, 2019 9:04 am

On the front page of the wiki is this information;

Development repository status
Current release: 2018.3 (9 Dec 2018)
Next release: 2019.1 (-406 days from now)
See release plan for details.

What does -406 days mean in plain English?
Regards

just guessing: someone put the wrong year in, so it's 406-365 days overdue.

Lemmy was right:
Code: Select all
<daysuntil>06 February 2018</daysuntil>

It should be 2019, my fault. Template:Current release is corrected.

I'm not convinced that's any better :?

Next release: 2019.1 (a few days from now)

It's been "a few days" for nearly 3 weeks now :lol:

it is RC status now... are you running it and providing feedback for problems found? ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

you have to pull linux RCs from the PPA or build them on your system in your build environment... it is pretty easy to do, too... i use the download_and_compile.sh script to download the needed repositories and build from them... i build PLIB, OSG, SimGear and FlightGear... it can take some time, initially, but then flying with the provided scripts to set the environment and load the sim works very well...

I'm looking for any information on c172p and j3cub float or amphibious model behavior when loading on the water or doing a relocation to the water.
Specifically...
Do you get segfaults when relocation or starting on the water?
If so any errors in the log?
Do the particle effects of the wake turn off when you get airborne?
Does the float variant startup actually floating on the water when it first is loaded or sink like there is no floats?
Does the amphibious variant startup actually floating on the water when it first is loaded or sink like there is no floats?
Any other abnormalities or issues you never noticed before?

Will this work? http://wiki.flightgear.org/Ubuntu or do I need a specific path to 2019.1?

On Ubuntu for building I recommend this:

http://wiki.flightgear.org/Scripted_Com ... ian/Ubuntu

At the moment the stable PPA contains 2018.3.1, and the daily PPA is failing (but has 2018.4.0 from before the last branch)

The only thing that might cause issues is the script grabbing fgdata repository - sourceforge has quite a few issues

When i try to download 2019.1 i get this;

$ git clone https://git.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/fgdata flightgear-fgdata
Cloning into 'flightgear-fgdata'...
remote: Enumerating objects: 66983, done.
remote: Counting objects: 100% (66983/66983), done.
remote: Compressing objects: 100% (31316/31316), done.
error: RPC failed; curl 56 GnuTLS recv error (-110): The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed

Should I have something installed before downloading git repositories?
Regards

i replied to you on the dev mailing list... more details are in my post there...

the solution is to use git:// instead of https://

the problem is something with SF and their new data center...
