Getting an aircraft to work

Postby Clive2670 » Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:59 pm

I have downloaded the "Advanced 777" from here: https://fgaircraft.wordpress.com/presen ... -aircraft/ I have unzipped the file and removed the "Master" from the file and transfered it to my dedicated custom arcraft folder on my desktop, then point Flightgear to it (The dedicated folder containing several aircraft of other models) I see the Advanced 777 listed in the aircraft list on the qtlauncher (I'm running 2018.3.2) alongside the original Flightgear 777, When i highlight the Advanced version from the site above Flightgear launches no problem But the model isn't there, Any help or thoughts please? Thanks
Thanks Clive aka: G-BLS01

That 777 is basically a quite old version of what is in fgaddon with some CDU improvements on top by mbuse.

I highly recommend getting the 777 from:

http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/flightgear/f ... nk/777.zip

as it had pretty much all the updates from various sources (although not the CDU updates from mbuse - I will see if I can find mbuse, and if he agrees perhaps they could be added).

Lego, is that the same version that is downloaded from the flightgear hangar on the qtlauncher?

yessir... that ibiblio site is one of the main FG hanger mirrors, IIRC...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Yes, but that link is the development version - last I checked the QT launcher by default pulls from http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/flightgear/ftp/Aircraft which is the stable version, last updated October 22nd?

yeah, there is that... plus the new versioning being done on the hanger so that older versions won't be pulling newer or development craft that won't work with that older FG version... it does complicate things a little but that's why there are programs like the launcher to handle these things properly for us ;)
