For some reason when using the MCDU I always get a blank screen when pressing the FPLAN button which means I always have to use the route manager in order to set waypoints? Is there any fix?

Position A32X on approach

Postby goldbAND » Tue Feb 12, 2019 1:23 am

I have been trying to initialize FG with the A32X on approach to a runway... but regardless of settings I get the 'preposterous configuration' error and cant proceed. Other aircraft start and fly with the same options. One example is approach to SFO 28L at 20 miles out, 5000' elevation, 180 knots airspeed.

Hi goldbAND:
The IDG-A32X has realistic systems, so you cannot initialize it in the air. It is not supported. Perhaps by V1.0 we can add special states for this support. For now, you must start on the ground for the sim to start properly.

Good morning folks,

I just grabbed a fresh copy of the Airbus and wanted to do a circle around the KCLT airport and test the ILS system; I took off from 36C based on the current weather conditions and intended on landing on the same runway; the localizer capture was flawless however about 5 miles or less after a successful glide slope follow the indicator (purple) started to rise eratically and then fall to the bottom again well this in turn disoriented the whole landing procedure and I found myself flying over the airport because I was way too high. I am going to reattempt but this time I will be trying the departure from 36R to see if the same condition happens? Is the DME feature in the works?

Thank-you for all the work on this awesome bird it is such a joy to fly, I am finding myself using the Rembrandt rendering engine too by cranking up the AA settings; the visuals are pleasing.

Hi John:
Rembrandt is not supported, so you won't get any cockpit or landing lights. We use ALS.

The glideslope is from the scenery, not the plane, so we can't help there.

DME works fine now, make sure you set your frequencies and course into the MCDU, NOT the radio dialog.

Kind Regards,
Josh

What if you had a flight planner in the FG web ui? You could even use the map to plot a route, and a textfield where you could just paste a flight plan using the ICAO format: https://aviation.stackexchange.com/ques ... -specified

Now, it of course needs to be eventually implemented in the fms too, so you can input it like you do in a real aircraft, although I guess nowadays those can be sent over the datalink too?

We plan to support Simbrief LEVELD data routes. So you can load them via MCDU Company Route.
