Hey Everyone!
My name is Captain HalconFalcon and I am a new user of FGFS. Started three weeks ago and learning everyday. I live in Stockholm and I'm used to take off from Arlanda airport.
Just wanted to say Hi and leave a video on my newly created channel. Right now featuring only this one (a fails landing compilation) but hope I will expand it soon.

By the way, what do you guys use to record the screen? I'm on linux and at the moment using ffmpeg (command line) coding h264 with nvidia-codec.

I personally use OBS (although I don't have NVENC, unfortunately).
There are free alternatives to every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

I didn't know about OBS, looks great! What's the impact on the performance?
In my case, using FFmpeg from command line have an impact on performance of around 40%, so my usual 60 to 65fps goes down to around 35 (more or less).

Very nicely edited. Also, looks very familiar (to be read as: Been there done that :wink: ).

If you have not done that already, look up primary and secondary effects of elevator and throttle. It might help a bit. It took me way too long to notice the slightly high approach speed (I guess I am getting a bit rusty).

For most GA aircraft, the low end of the airspeed indicator's white arc* should be about right on final approach.

Although the right place to pick up the "V-speeds" (perm) is placards and the flight manual, EUROCONTROL's Aircraft Performance Database (Cessna 172 entry) can be of great help when trying out new aircraft.

* The white arc represents the span between the minimum and maximum airspeed with flaps extended. Keep in mind that you still lose lift in a hard bank though.

Thank you very much and sorry for the delay but I've been working a lot and couldn't touch FG or pay attention to the forum. I corrected mostly my landings, as you suggested, by taking better care of my approaching and vertical speed.
