I got Christmas gift - FSX Accel edition + PMDG 737 base. I tested it atonce on the best possible route - from Baghdogra to Paro

VEBD and VQPR are freeware scenery addons. For better feeling I bought PMDG CDU Device for my Android tablet. Must have thing for PMDG pilots (check https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... udevicepro).

Thinking hard about FSL Concorde-X, but 70 EURs for very nice and accurate, but incomplete package (engineer panel is only 2D) is too much. PMDG is almost complete with similar price. All freware Concordes for FSX are piece of crap :(

I found very interesant utility - TileProxy. This thing downloads tiles from for example Virtual Earth and use it as scenery textures. There are disadvantages, ofcourse - autogen scenery doesn't work, because scenery engine has not information about landclases and can't generate trees, buildings or night city lighting. Season effects (snow, etc) is not possible too. Non existing trees and buildings are not problem for high FL pilots, absence of night lighting is visual glitch, Season is biger problem.

X-Plane certainly has nice ground lightning but at the price of low performance!

Very nice.
I don't know how ORBX made their lighting system, it is beautifull and without fps drop. No difference between day and night. Default FSX night lights are not very spectacular, X-P is far better. FSX has very badly implemented DX10, needs manual tweaking and not all aircrafts are compatible with it. There is other nicer side of the DX10 - on my machine is 20% faster than DX9...

Get Steve's DX 10 fixer. It fixes all the DX10 problems! Dont use DX10 if you use ORBX though, it will problems you with lights!

Kind Regards,

Thank You for advice. I'm using free version of that fixer downloaded from avsim library. And all is good, ORBX too.
