As for where exactly in the Carribean islands, should the event be confined to the Leeward and Windward Antilles? That is,

Image
All the islands between Puerto Rico and Granada?

Or should it be extended further to include Trinidad / Tobago, Margarita, Los Roques, Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba, or in the other direction, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican republic, Jamaica, and Cuba?

Depends who's going to participate, and what people want out of it. If we're going to focus on airliners, then it makes sense to extend the area all the way from Havana to Trinidad, and man a few larger airports, but if the main focus is going to be island hopping and sightseeing, then it's probably better to restrict things to a smaller area. There's plenty of airports in the area either way...

@D-ECHO what about combining your various scenery packages (I understand that you have two or three covering the windward and lesser Antilles) into one, and maybe extending it to all the Carribbean?

Or maybe different packages for different areas is better?

Custom scenery for the Caribbean Islands is now available at https://gitlab.com/decho/caribbean Please report any issues, so they can be fixed before integrating the scenery into terrasync for the 2019 Spring Festival!

Currently includes Image, if wanted I can extend it to more islands

Ok - thanks!

If you could possibly give the exact coordinates of the covered area (if you don't have them it doesn't matter, I'll guess based on the map...), I'll run osm2city as discussed and send it to you.

You won't be rebuulding any of the scenery...? If the elevations etc change osm really needs to be rebuilt, that's why I'm asking.

That area I think is sufficient for a start, especially if the event is confined to the Leeward / Windward islands + maybe Puerto Rico, Virgin islands?

Thx @D-ECHO to pronounce the area.
I have flown around 40% of the area and landed on a dozens of airports.
All in all, its a great landscape and nice textures.
Some little glitches:
TDPD: building below ground
What you see
Image
Whats underground
Image

TFFM: static aircraft on runway
Image

TFFS and TVSU (other airports also possible): position of runway in map and world scenery mismatch
Idont know if it simple to repair it.

Some cuts is scenery
South-west end of Dominica
Image
Westcoast of Dominica

Some holes in scenery (missing triangles?):
Hole in Grenada South-East coast
Image
Hole in Grenada East coast
Image
Hole in Caille Island

This would be 11.9-18.3 (N) and -59.3 - -63.3 (E)

As the errors WoodSTokk pointed out need to be fixed, the scenery will be rebuilt, but I will (probably) not reprocess the elevation data, but I'm not sure how much tg-construct varies in elevation outputs

That area I think is sufficient for a start, especially if the event is confined to the Leeward / Windward islands + maybe Puerto Rico, Virgin islands?

I can add those, that's no problem :)

@WoodSTokk:
Thank you very much for the test and report!

The objects elevation will be re-calculated when entering the terrain into terrasync. Displaced (geographically) objects will be corrected soon ;) The runway positions can be corrected by feeding the updated apt.dat files to FG, I though I had already done this, but possibly forgot a few airports. The scenery problem at Dominica you see is because in this tile there is no scenery so the old scenery (from TS) is displayed, this should be fixed when adding it to terrasync :) I have also already seen the few holes in the scenery, I'm not quite sure what's the reason for them, but I'll try to find out :)
