A few issues there, but its a start!

Image
I see the problem, rebuilding.

so, for materials,

Airport -> launchpads, airports
drycrop -> shrubs, grass, trees in equal proportion
forest-> medium sized trees, fairly dense
grasscover -> mostly bare grass with mixed shrubs / a few trees as well

There is unfortunately a lot of "default" -> I'd map it the same as drycrop as that's basically what it mostly is.

Ya, thank you! I just checked it out and getting ready to load the Takeoff scenario.
What ICAO should I be using with this Florida scenery to launch the shuttle?

I was working on the bay doors mesh and testing the changes with the shuttle in the launch position at my local airport. I had METAR conditions of my local airport. We were in a blizzard condition with 50 MPH winds. Well I noticed I would get red out when in the bay view off and on. I got distracted by something else for awhile and when I got back the wind blew the shuttle over and off of the pad. I didn't know it could even do that.

Its not an actual airport but is merely a shapefile mapped to airport keep. GinGin has the actual coordinates of all the pads - not sure if he posted it here. I'll try and find them and post them in the morning. Good opportunity to check the accuracy of the jpg2000 images using those coordinates :)

Osm2city is built, I'll push in the morning.

--lat=28.6274 --lon=-80.6209 --heading=90

Used this from google map, to be in the center of one of the launch pad.

Wow, Florida is becoming Nicer and Nicer :)

Ah yes, it's not a free licence.
Do you think it might be usefull if I contact the creator of the game ?

Well, I downloaded a software to create sound with specific frequency. They explain the frequency of the master alarm and caution in SCOM.
I will try to do some nice .wav

It could really add something nice to have this stressfull two bip tone :)

Got some pretty good infos on freq here

http://www.spaceshuttleguide.com/system/caution_and_warning_system.htm#Class_2_-_C/W

I did Class 1 Klaxon for Depressurization and class 2 alarm :)
It sounds nice and stress full, need to adjust the audio level though

It's ok in .wav?

.wav is fine - its the standard sound file format used by FG.

Thanks legoboyvdlp, really nice work.

@eatdirt, I got really close to guessing correctly with Google Earth. The numbers I came up with were pretty close to what you provided, thanks.

Alright, infos here : https://science.ksc.nasa.gov/shuttle/technology/sts-newsref/sts-caws.html

Some samples, don't listen it with headset full sound, quite loud sound :)

Class 1 Alarm for Rapid Depressurization

The klaxon is a 2,500-hertz signal with an on/off cycle of 2.1 milliseconds on and 1.6 milliseconds off, mixed with a 270-hertz signal with a cycle of 215 milliseconds on and 70 milliseconds off.

I took 21 ms and 16 ms, 2.1 ms was inaudible with audacity

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qNJDEssyCl5_Hm0alvqeKeMrMxpursRn

Class 2 Alarm for main failures other than Fire and Depressurization

The class 2 alarm is activated by the primary (hardware) system, the backup (software) system or both. The C/W tone is an alternating 375 hertz and 1,000 hertz at 2.5 hertz. The alternating C/W alarm tone is generated when the hardware system detects an out-of-limit condition on any of the 120 parameters it monitors or when the software (backup) system detects a parameter that is out of limits.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I understood that in 0.4 s ( 2.5 Hz period), we have the sequence of 375 Hz and 1000 Hz sound?

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sIV1ibt0TcopD7kEazWOc8orPnbTFRil

This one is really close to what they have in Ssms 2007, must be the good frequencies :)

Is pointing.xml anything to do with state vector / star tracking? I wonder if this is a root cause of the issues eatdirt had? :?
