Switzerland is now available in a version supporting the newest features in FG2017.2. Please be aware that you need to overwrite 2 image files in $FGData as explained at the top list of areas populated with osm2city.

Thanks to reorganise it, Schweiz area, KBOS and ENBR new packages were generated with Project3000 in mind, then there're enough place to fit these objects, no matter if later will be added from a TerraSync import or the original Project3000 project?

does this apply if one is building their own FGFS and using the very latest fgdata repo or are these two files already included there?

Unless you are using a fresh FGData from git combined with a binary for next (aka 2017.3) you have currently to overwrite. For different reasons I did not manage to get the proper version included into the newest release. Sorry.

That is the idea. However this is only true (to the degree that the algorithm finds overlap) for a given version of Project3000 (that is why the version is mentioned). There is alsways the possibility that someone improves an airport by hand (which will conflict with both osm2city and Project3000 - or that a newer version of Project3000 has more details/information and therefore conflicts with e.g. osm2city.

Hi,

Ecuador has been converted with osm2city and the scenery is available at the ecuadorflightgear site (link below). The scenery covers the whole country (~ 780000 km2) with exception of the Galapagos islands.
Note that once downloaded, the directory occupies 743 MB.

Enjoy!

Hi Saul

Thank you very much for your effort. It is nice to see that osm2city apparently at least technically also works in a region, which has not been tested before. (And if there are entries in the exception log, then please let me know).

Would you mind registering the scenery in the wiki (see first post)? If you do not feel comfortable editing the wiki, then please let me know the values for the respective columns.

Thanks

A new scenery for Hawaii is available.

The special thing about this one is that most buildings have been created in plausible places despite not OSM information about the building or a related building zone being available.

The screen shots have been taken after changing materials as described in the user guide:

hawaii.xml (not hawaii_big_island.xml, kauai.xml, oahu.xml)
Code: Select all
 <material>
    <name>Town</name>
    <name>SubUrban</name>
    <name>Grassland</name>
...

global-summer.xml
Code: Select all
<material>
    <name>BuiltUpCover</name>
    <name>Urban</name>
    <name>GrassCover</name>
    <name>BareTundraCover</name>
    <name>MixedTundraCover</name>
    <name>Cemetery</name>
...

The images below are all at PHNG (Kaneohe) north of Honolulu:

Unfortunately something is wrong in Honolulu - but you can see where it is going.

I've done my first scenery with osm2city today: Gran Canaria (Major airport GCLP)

I've builded it with the default parameters only.

Feedback and tips on how to improve the result is appreciated.

A new scenery for the parts of Netherlands covering EHAM and EHLE is available at https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code ... Dx0JRP6nqX. The area includes most of South and North Holland plus Flevoland.

Unfortunately at least on my pretty fast machine (SSD, i7, lots of RAM and modern Nvidia) the loading of the scenery in FlightGear seems to be too much. But please give it a try.
