Cessna 182 carb heat

Postby Couchflyer » Fri Nov 16, 2018 6:24 pm

Hi
Maybe I am being obtuse, but please can anyone point out to me the location of the carb heat control in the Cessna 182S Skylane. I see that there is a dial for carb temp - CHT- but I don't see the knob used to pull carb heat on. Maybe it is not simulated ?
or is it that the plane is fuel injected and doesn't need it. So what is the CHT dial for?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I have recently found this out via a thread I made above. The Cessna-182s don't have carb heat, along with all Cessnas made after 1996 (I think). They don't need it, it's done automatically.
