FG Space Shuttle Final Approach Movie ( real voices)

Postby GinGin » Thu Nov 08, 2018 5:04 pm

Heya,

A very short video about the last 2 mn of the Shuttle Approach, with real voices of STS 125 crew.
Still a newbie with video editor, but it is fun :)

That was impressive, thank you for doing that.

I now know what I am doing wrong on approach. That is a way steeper angle than I ever imagined, truly a ballistic brick!

Thanks, yes steep :)

Between 15 and 20 ° of Flight path angle xD
I barely tweaked the audio with compression to match the video, damn well coded game physic wise

Hm... you didn't like aim point, flare triangles and all that stuff on the HUD then?

shared with my Twitter and G+ followers... quite a few are involved with space works ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Didn't know how to use it all.

I haven't spent enough time on reading all the documentation. Too busy creating instead of enjoying.

Beautiful!!!

thanks for the The Lesson, that is very clean, steady and smooth

By the way guys, any advice on a joystick, or link to some info on joysticks (never had one before)?

Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks Eat Dirt.

I have a Warthog, a bit too much for the Shuttle.

Depends of your budget, but a good start around a 100 euros is that one :

i have the T-16000M without HOTAS... i forget how much i paid but it was less then $100US... i'm thinking $50US to $75US but really don't recall...

i also have not even tried the space shuttle so i don't know how this stick would work with it...

Actually, for maneuvering in space, I find the keypad nice (it has this terrific ability to center controls...) and the final approach I do with the mouse.

Due to the rate-controlling DAP, the Shuttle is fairly tolerant against pretty much everything...

yeah, even with a joystick, i find myself using the keyboard most of the time... i guess that's a problem stemming from 30+ years as a touch typist ;)
