Tu-154 IT-AUTOFLIGHT

Postby Ivan-Pekar » Sun Oct 21, 2018 11:21 am

Hello,
I was recommended by it0uchpods that I use IT-AUTOFLIGHT on the SSJ (whose autopilot had many issues). I have now put this on several aircraft that don't have autopilot/have issues with it, includign the An-24b, for example. However, when trying to do this on the Tu-154b, this didn't work. I pressed F11 and the dialog came up, but the autopilot didn't become engaged. Does anyone know why?

Thanks a lot,
Ivan

Maybe it's not driven by the standard AP properties but has a custom system?

I'm not sure. How do I find that out?
There isn't actually an autopilot dialog in the Tu-154, it's all done manually in the cockpit. That's why I added IT-AUTOFLIGHT.

You need to look into the FDM definitions and see what is done there.

Sure looks like a custom version.

Hi.
Thorsten is correct, IT-AUTOFLIGHT uses a completely custom logic for the control.

Please make sure you are using V3.2.1 as this version is what I will be talking: (if not, updating doesn't take long). You can check this top of it-autoflight.nas (last update, yesterday)

You need to follow the instructions FULLY. The instructions on wiki explain how to add the IT-AUTOFLIGHT Control Dialog to your plane. I will link you for the convenience.

Thank you, Thorsten.

Hello Josh, I am sure I followed the instructions fully as it worked on other aircraft. I am using v3.2.1 The only issue is that there is no systems.nas file on the Tu-154, so, as said in the wiki, I just added the code to another nasal file. The control dialog is there when I press F11, it just doesn't seem to be "connected" to the aircraft's autopilot.

Thanks,
Ivan

Hi.
You can put this code in any nasal file, if you make a new one, you need to include it in the -set file.
