Postby StuartC » Wed Aug 15, 2018 4:45 pm

The Sikorsky S-76 is an American medium-size commercial utility helicopter, manufactured by the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. The S-76 features twin turboshaft engines, four-bladed main and tail rotors and retractable landing gear.

This is an ALPHA release, not a final product.

This is a rebuild of the old S76 C++ that has been in FlightGear for many years.

Changes over the original:-

All new FDM.

New sound pack.

Cockpit detailing ( Incomplete ).

Multiple selectable mission configurations ( available from the Equipment - Fuel and Payload menu ).

ALS Glass and fuselage effects.

Multiplayer passenger/crewman option.

Working winchman.

Clickable doors including baggage doors.

16 Liveries with livery specific levels of reflection.

Autopilot function - Heading hold + AGL + Alt Hold all working.

TO DO LIST:-

The Cockpit needs much more work, but as detailed and good images of the real C++ cockpit are near impossible to find, the current version is being released as is until we get more info and images from a real one to improve the cockpit.

You have images of the 76D there. The last image is the C++ but not high enough res to read anything on the buttons or get a good look at the contents of the centre console sadly.

The problem I think is there were not many C++ versions in use for many images to exist. All the other versions are 10 a penny.

Guys,I found a video made by a S-76 Captain flying for China southern Offshore Helicopters ,though I can’t tell whether it’s a s76c or c++ .Some details are shown in the vid.
S-76 is one of my favorite choppers ,I wish we can model something of system depth ,hopefully a study level one eventually.A more realistic fdm ,most system simulation…(The only S76 sim I’ve got is the default xplane one,and it’s….)

Two suggestions:1.get the magnetic compass working instead of just a prop 2.Better engine panel reading and Instruments .There’s a Lake of Constance hangar S-76,Maybe we can merge the two!
