IDG-A32X Autopilot issue

Postby Ivan-Pekar » Sun Sep 09, 2018 11:35 am

Hello,
I tried switching on the autopilot after takeoff, but whenever I press AP1/AP2, it switches off 2 seconds later. I try pressing it again, the same happens. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks

Good morning, how are you?
That is very odd. I just checked it and it seems to work okay. Perhaps you did something to trip it off? (too low, high speed?)

Perhaps you forgot to center your controls before engaging the AP? If you don't, the plane detects sidestick activity and the A/P disconnects.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hello, I'm fine, thanks!
What do you mean by 'centering the controls'? And yes, I think it might be due to high speed. I'll try and fix that.
Thanks,
Ivan

The controls must be neutral - i.e. no joystick input, or the autopilot will trip.

If your speed is above the red line on the PFD you will have an overspeed, and the aircraft will begin to pitch up as you get faster to slow down, and the autopilot will trip as well if I remember correctly.

Yep, Lego, the A/P Trips when any FBW protection activates.
