Charter Aviation; Any plane, any route, anytime

Postby Lars0817 » Sun Aug 05, 2018 9:00 am

Charter Aviation is a virtual airline for those who want the convenience of not being stuck to limitations in what routes are available. Charter Aviation is for those who don't want to be stuck to a selected fleet.
Charter Aviation is for pilots who would like to decide for themselves when to fly.

With the custom tracker you fill in your destination and you are ready to fly.

Get higher ranks by flying, more hours means having a higher rank.

Join over 140 other Flightgear pilots now, join Charter Aviation, the airline for everyone!

Hi Lars,

good to hear about another existing and living VA for FG pilots. I am flying with St. Paul airlines, which has mainly FSX etc. pilots, but is suitable for FG as well by now.

Now my question: How did your airline IT team deal with different mass-and-balance approaches by different aircraft?

I refer to an intensive development and testing done by the SPA webmaster to apply an economy mode to FG aircraft, he has found a way and refers to this issue in his post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34555&p=334436#p334436
As you apparently have payload/economy results for your flights, as well, how did you handle it for different planes?

At this time we use the same standards for every plane. This standard uses full load and differs depending on the flown distance. But we have a different class for special aircraft such as the Concorde.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks, Lars, i.e. you assume full payload and "pay" per distance, did I get that right?

Hello, I attempted to join your VA but your site is using an outdated version of reCaptcha which seems to be preventing me from completing the application process.

I filled everything out and attempted to submit the form without any reCaptcha input but it seemed to have no effect as the page just reloaded with no message to indicate success or failure and I have not received any confirmation email of any type. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Same here... CAPTCHA-test is not working as it is outdated. Registration not possible.

We use certain hubs but everyone is free to fly from wherever they want to wherever they want, no matter the hub. The route which you choose should be filled in in the tracker if the pilot is using it (which isn't mandatory). When using the route manager, the route can be easily filled in the tracker by using the 'route' button. We don't give information about the flight, because routes can differ depending on weather just like fuel. Take-off time is determined by the pilot.

Sorry to be away so long...

ePilot here, FlightSimLog.org and FGFlightLotg.org admin. The Former Charter Aviation site is now FGFlightLog.org and FlightSimLog.org and has been moved to a new server and the registration problem (and other problems) have been resolved. I am back to active development of the FGFlightLog.org website so you can expect improvements arriving soon! I hope to see you all soon!

New Aircraft! The Grumman HU-16A Albatross

Postby chtadmin » Fri Feb 07, 2020 6:59 am

Charter is please to announce the immediate availability of the latest ePilot aircraft:

The Grumman HU-16A Albatross

The Grumman HU-16 family of aircraft were large twin radial engine constant speed propeller powered search and rescue amphibians, first flown in 1947 and are still in use by military and scientific organizations around the world.

See pics: https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35200&hilit=did+you+fly+today&start=330 (scroll down a few images)

The Grumman HU-16A-Albatross is the first truly amphibious jsbsim aircraft for FlightGear and incorporates all the ePilot innovations that you've come to expect like in-flight swappable cockpit configurations and flight control deflection A/P auto disconnect.

This aircraft introduces many new features never before seen in FlightGear aircraft including a completely revamped Checklist System which not only tells you what needs doing but dynamically changes your cockpit view to look directly at the item needing attention. The checklist is now your virtual flight instructor in this aircraft. The FDM is tuned precisely to simulate the flight characteristics of the real-life Albatross, the fuel system reproduces the actual aircraft fuel system in detail including the use of transfer pumps and drop tanks for those extra long flights.

A pdf flight manual is included to help get you started flying the Albatross.

Hope to fly with you soon!
