Garmin GPS for C182s

Postby camileck » Fri Aug 17, 2018 10:14 pm

Is it possible to use Garmin GPSmap 196 when flying Cessna 182s? I know there is a menu option for it when flying C172 (that is how I got familiar with G196) but cannot see such feature for C182s. I am almost sure there is a way to achieve this, may I ask you to push me into the right direction?

the garmin would need to be added to the c182s by its developers...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

wkitty42 is correct, perhaps you would like to open a new issue in the c182s repository with this feature request: https://github.com/HHS81/c182s/issues/

Alternatively, you can fly the C182T with the G1000 panel, which includes a much more advanced GPS.

And I thought it's the FG1000 panel...

Darn typos. Yes, it's the FG1000. Clearly completely different from any product made by Garmin that might happen to be installed on the Cessna 182T in real life...
