Hangar Requests!

Postby GreatPilot8 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 5:16 pm

Greetings Pilots!
This Topic is for requests to change the hangar built into Flightgear's latest game versions.
This Topic can also be used to get help or information about the Flightgear hangar.

As you may know, some airplanes in the hangar are simply disgusting. Either the cockpit
is a simple low definition picture with no interactive buttons or switches, or either the
plane model is inaccurate. Here are requests to help improve the FGFS hangar.

Airbus A320

Postby GreatPilot8 » Tue Aug 14, 2018 5:24 pm

The airbus family in general, their cockpits are no to well developed.
Airbus type aircraft are really popular so I think you must improve it a little if possible.
The airbus family in FG got so unpopular that people started to make replacements on GIT.
For example, look at these aircraft compared to the default ones in the hangar:
A320neo
IDG-a32X
(These are download links from GIT)
Play with it for a while. See the difference?
So if you can, please update the airbus family.
Thank's! :)

I understand the IDG Airbus is to be committed to FGAddon once it's finished.

Generally, making a really high quality aircraft is 1000+ hours of volunteer work - people do that in their own time and for what interests them. We generally respect the wish of aircraft creators who invest that kind of work to commit their work to the FG hangar or not if they prefer not to - even if the aircraft is superior, we try to acknowledge the moral right of people to offer their creation exclusively in their hangar.

In other words, there's nothing your thread can accomplish here - we're well aware that not all aircraft have 4 or 5 star rankings, but pointing this out yet again doesn't change that - unless you come with a few hundred knowledgeable volunteers who start working on all of these, we'll be stuck with the present situation which will only gradually change.

(I happily review and eventually commit a high quality aircraft to the repository when asked, but that's not overly common.)
