Submit your candidate for SOTM August 2018!

Postby legoboyvdlp » Wed Aug 01, 2018 12:27 pm

Hello Pilots! :D

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for August's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
15 entries (because a poll can only have 15 options)
Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license!
Please convert your picture from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
Must be taken with FlightGear.
Every picture should have a caption. Please limit yourself to about five words!
Please add the name of the aircraft and the location where the screenshot was taken to your entry (not necessarily to be mentioned in the caption).
Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters).
You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license

Voting will start when 15 entries are reached or at the latest on August 25th, in a separate topic.

Cheers ;)

Nice job, is that Rembrandt or ALS?

Rembrandt, ALS doesn't do background blur in fog, because fog doesn't blur things in reality

Just like the reflections of terrain in water then - looks nice but not existent in reality :P

(at least unless the water is smooth enough?)

Yeah that's Rembrandt. Though ALS is more realistic then Rembrandt, I still like the lights and reflection in Rembrandt a lot.
And... isn't that blur the Tyndall effect? I think I've seen it a couple times in reality?

The Tyndall effect doesn't bend light. The blur effect is pure artistry.
