KC-130 AI Tanker Scenario

Postby Raptor » Tue Jul 10, 2018 4:16 pm

Hello Pilots, now its time to practice air to air refueling using Helicopters.

AI Scenario puts an KC-130 aerial tanker flying at speed 120 Kts at 4000 ft ASL.

but i don't think there are any helicopter in FG having air to air refueling enabled using aar.nas file so that we can see fuel quantity increasing in tanks once you are behind AI Tanker.

Nice to see another tanker.

I tried the piloted one some years ago:

Also some years ago I collected links to various resources etc. at the wiki page Aerial refueling improvement ideas and resources (perm) in case that would be useful to anyone.

Is that really possible? I mean in reality? A fully loaded tanker at 120kts? And catch that chute with a helicopter? Seems really weird to me. :)

Though, still - congratulations for your progress!

Is this model GPL? If so is there any object to me adding it into FG (via the "request tanker" dialog)

Yes, model is GPL, 3D model is designed by Helijah.

It will be grateful if any one comes up with fuel line animation once you connect to drouge like that of flexible rope used in Aircrane helicopter in FG and also using tow line effect used in gliders in FG for simulating breakforce if your are falling behind causing fuel flow cut off.

The Alouette-III contains the rope simulation manager class and its documentation - should be easy to adapt.
