SimBrief flightplan converter

Postby bob755 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 7:58 am

Sorry if this is not the correct place to put this topic but if anyone is interested, I developpped a Python tool that converts a flightplan exported from SimBrief in XML format to FG compatible format.
The tool is still in beta and being tested but if anyone wants to try it , send me a MP.

py sbconvert.pyc -h

usage: sbconvert.pyc [-h] [--op outputfile] [--incsids] [--incalts] inputfile

This program converts a Simbrief xml flight plan to FlightGear format
Example: sbconvert c:\mypath\flightplan.xml
If --op option is omitted, the default output file name is composed of departure icao
and destination icao
Example: LFPO-LMNT.xml

positional arguments:
inputfile input file path

optional arguments:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
--op outputfile output file path
--incsids include sids and stars
--incalts include waypoint altitudes

You need to have Python 3 installed.

Hey, I'm looking to add more flight-plan formats directly inside FG, can you talk a but more about SimBrief? I don't want to add fifty different formats but if there's some common / popular ones it would be good to know.
