2018.2.1 Release

Postby legoboyvdlp » Wed May 23, 2018 9:58 am

Dear all,

I have just pushed the files for the 2018.2.1 release of FlightGear to our primary host at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/flight ... se-2018.2/
Within the next few hours you should be able to download your copy from one of their mirrors.

We still have to complete a few items of our virtual release checklist:
- post an announcement to the forum
- update the wiki
- write a changelog
- spread the word

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to this fantastic project!

How does it seem to be running so far? Haven't had the chance to download and use yet.

It doesn't seem to have any major problems so far.

this is the only legitimate time that the navdat_cache file can/should be deleted...

Are there plans to push to the official Ubuntu Bionic repo any time soon?

Is there an "official" PPA?

The most recent Sourceforge Milestone for reporting issues is 2017.1. Is that the one we should use to report 2018.x.x issues?

Thanks!

is there FG in that repo already? if so, then that maintainer should be contacted... if there is not, someone would have to volunteer for that on the Bionic side...

the only one i'm aware of is not really official but it is updated regularly... that's saircot's PPA...

i've passed this to the dev mailing list to a bug tracker manager can update things...

I now see Sourceforge Milestones for reporting 2018.2.3 and 2018.3.0 issues, but still no Milestone for reporting 2018.1.1 issues... which is the version I'm planning to use until an upgrade shows up in the Bionic Beaver repo.

Just wanted to mention that Download Link on home.flightgear.org still points to 2018.2.1 version. AFAIK the latest stable is 2018.2.2. Is it a mistake or it should stay like this?
