ok... SHIFT-B is a toggle for the parking brake... the handle is under the yoke... if it is pulled out, the parking brake is set (ON)... if it is pushed in, the parking brake is not set (OFF)... this is like the old parking brakes on cars...
'b' by itself, is the brakes you push with your foot... comma is the left wheel brake... period is the right wheel brake... the 'b' pushes and releases the comma and the period brakes together... what the tutorial said, as you wrote above is this...
1. hit SHIFT-B to release the parking brake. The "L" handle under the yoke will slide in toward the engine.
2. hold the 'b' key to push the foot brakes.
3. keep holding the 'b' key until i tell you to start taxing.
4. release the 'b' key to release the foot brakes.
5. apply some throttle (PgUp} to rev the engine and get some push then reduce the throttle (PgDn) so you don't get going too fast...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
