Boeing 787

The Boeing 787 sometimes, the wings will actually flap. Is this a bug? Is there any reason this is happening or a fix?

This is due to the force exerted by the air on the wings, which makes them flex up and down slightly in turbulence (as seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW7GuztsZ_g) and also due to the bending moment on the wings when a G-force is exerted on the aircraft by the controls (as seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StQneURTciU starting at about 0:59)

However, the 787-8 takes this to the extreme in FlightGear with the wings sometimes bending up above the aircraft until it looks like an X shape! :)

so, yes, this is a feature... wingflex has only been around a year or two... i remember watching it being developed when i first found flightgear... it is, actually, the simulation of real life effects... you should see what a B-52's wings do in real life ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

It happens when i just start the plane. And i don't think its legit to have a plane's wings fold that excessively. We have a mayday lol. Thanks for your help tho! :D

I think this person is on about the issue I found a while ago with the wings that ACTUALLY FLAP like bird wings!!! I can't remember what I did to overcome this issue, I sure I downloaded the 787 from github NOT the one on the flightgear hangar. I do remember with a fair amount of amusement and belly laughs when the plane did this wing flapping it was on the ground and not in the air though!!
Thanks Clive aka: G-BLS01

yeah... if this craft is using yasim, this may be the result of some changes but i'm not pointing the finger at anything... i do know that there is code inside the craft that needs to be adjusted to fix this... i don't know if the wingflex module is in FG now and the craft may have an old buggy copy of the wingflex module in itself... if it is in FG, i would guess that it isn't as buggy as it once was... the idea then would be to update the craft to use the module from FGData and see how that works...

i think, but would have to dig to find out, that the pterodactyl and the dragon both use this wingflex module... but something else is telling me they're using the wingflapping shader...
