Buildings on water on new york

Postby paju1986 » Sun Jan 14, 2018 11:33 am

Hello.

I was thinking about creating the osm scenery of new york, but the static buildins and roads that are already in place are placed over water:

Any way of fixing this?

Thanks you!

the scenery needs to be rebuilt with better land mass data... this is the same thing needing to be done for other areas of the world, too... the water boundaries are especially susceptible to this problem... one can also see it when flying down the west coast from KSFO...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

is it possible to rebuild that zone with osm landmass data??

I don't mind to learn how to generate terrain but i don't know if osm landmass can be used as an input.

You could do that.

The frustrating thing is, we have polygons somewhere for the creation of this scenery - but unfortunately I don't have them anymore.
