Aerospatiale SA-315B Lama project downloads

Postby StuartC » Tue Dec 19, 2017 8:57 pm

The Aérospatiale SA 315B Lama is a French single-engined helicopter developed to meet hot and high operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. It combines the lighter Aérospatiale Alouette II airframe with Alouette III components and powerplant. The Lama possesses exceptional high altitude performance; on 21 June 1972, the type established a helicopter absolute altitude record of 12,442 m (40,814 ft), a record which remained unbroken as of September 2017.

Hello Mr. Stuart,
I thought I'd give it a try! Note that I am a fixed wing guy but here are my thoughts:

- The cockpit is pretty nice. A few textures would be nice to see upscaled, but overall it's nicely done.
- Enough clickspots to start the heli, I'd like to see a couple more implemented though.
- FDM seems very sensitive, I had a hard time keeping it in a straight line - but it's possible that this is simply my heli-flying-inexperience showing.

Overall a pretty solid chopper. Good job!

Kind Regards,
Josh

PS: Nice to see my GTX-327 made it into another craft! There's a few functions I never got around to adding to it, probably should do that.
One thing. It's "bad" to control the screen objects hide/show in XML there, electrical system should control the property /systems/electrical/outputs/transponder, it looks like this was forgotten to be removed when the electrical system was added in 1.2.

It is a sensitive chopper and needs a fine hand to fly it ( No fancy stabilisation assistants in this old bird ). Its also an overpowered airframe ( made that way by design ) which ads to its nervous personality.
The GTX 327 was in its previous build as well. I didnt write the electrical system, I simply fitted it but I shall get it looked at.
