Where in the FG files does the standard Fg Autopilot live ????

it might make sense to review the corresponding docs on the wiki and add such info there if it isn't already there.

I had a peculiar issue where a code block was stopping the autopilot ( the standard one ) for working. I now created a hybrid autopilot file which contains the autopilot + the other code block, now everything is working happy again.

Well,
you just do this in your -set:

Code: Select all
         <autopilot n="2">
            <path>Aircraft/IDG-A32X/Systems/fbw-drivers.xml</path>
         </autopilot>


autopilot n 0 is generic-ap, n 1 is helpers. Then it will work. Your entry was likely overwriting those.

It is the correct approach, and it should work if you do it right.
